There are two possible causes. First, but not very likely, a poor earth connection on a connector cable. The most likely is a failed Electrolytic Capacitor in the power supply section of the main amp. What you are hearing is the 50 to 60 hz hum of the mains electricity supply!

MY DOORBELL IS BUZZING INSIDE. HOW DO I DISCONNECT IT

The simplest answer here, if your worried about fire, is to disconnect it from the power supply. Mains powered door bells use a transformer to reduce the voltage to the bell's mechanism. These do hum but it is usually very quiet.
At 25 years old, if the buzz is getting louder, it might be worth thinking about replacing it for a new one. Even door bells get old and wear out.
If it is powered from the house power supply turn off the power at the fuse panel BEFORE you start removing wires. Any wires you do remove do it one at a time and wrap the exposed ends separately with electricians tape. This helps keeps everything safe.

Electric Nordyne Furnace/AC/with heat pump makes buzzing noise when turned on, registers do put out heat. Any ideas what is causing the buzzing noise?

is it only in heat? Possibly the heater contactor but I don't believe nordyne uses a contactor. could possibly be the transformer humming? many different strange noises come from units, may want to have it serviced.

Buzzing Sound at Base of Unit does not go away

If everything is working as it should - the problem may be with the motor.
Either the starter is starting to fail, or it may have gotten wet. Check for leaks around the base, and be prepared to eventually replace the motor.
If you can deal with the humming, there is no reason to replace it at this time, and there is nothing you can do to quiet the noise.

Thanks for using FixYa!

Humming and buzzing

You're getting electrical interference, probably near the base unit since you hear it on all the phones. Try moving the base unit to the other side of the desk (away from say a clock or radio), or check where your phone wire going to the base unit is running. It may be laying on top of an electrical cord or going across some other electrical device that has a motor.

Mackie srm-450 constant annoying hum (buzzing) even with no input plugged in

Mix, try this...Get everything in your audio system together.get a coupla power strips. Power up both speakers on that strip with no inputs, just the speakers. gotta hum(60hz)? ground-lift the strip and see if it stops. add one peice of the puzzle at a time until you find your buzz generator, if you're a mobile DJ, doing gigs in 'God Knows Where' you would be well advised to buy a "Power Conditioner" that will level out spikes and dips in the voltage servicing your gear.

There's a buzzing sound coming from my central air conditioner unit outside. The fan is quiet but I hear a buzzing sound. Should that be happening? Sounds like there's something loose.

Things that are not broken: The big relay that powers the compressor often hums or buzzes when the unit is running. Several brands of heat pumps keep their reversing valve "on" any time the thermostat is set for "cool". They buzz, too.

If something really is loose, the only way to fix it is to look at the machine and take off panels until you find what is buzzing.

Connection and Reception

I would suggest to try another phone. I am considering that the phone line is okay. It is possible that there is a fault in the power supply inside of the base station. I have seen the supply section in the base station go defective causing hum, and or complete failure of the phone.

If the power supply is at fault, the failure can be a voltage regulator, or some bad capacitors, or something along that line.

Buzzing sound

You haven't specified where the buzzing sound is coming from, if it is coming from speakers, changing capacitors in the audio section will fix the problem, especially the filters. Now if it sounds like a hissing sound from back of the tv, the CRT base socket is the culprit. It is an easy thing to fix, and the base is cheap, but make sure you purchase the exact same type of base or it will harm the CRT. Good luck.

Noisy phillips TV model tr 2503 c121

Mine does this too, just bought it yesterday and noticed the sound this morning, I guess because the house was quiet, now it's the most annoying noise ever. I have been searching for solutions all day, one forum said to go to the picture settings and turn the light sensor to "OFF"...Haven't gotten home to try it yet, but I hope this helps BOTH of us!
