Try holding the advanced surround and power buttons for about 5 seconds. The receiver is locked in protect mode. This should release it.
These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

SOURCE: Panasonic HDMI surround system problem
The HDMI cable connection on your system is a video out to your TV.
To get audio from the TV so you can hear it through the system, you need to add a cable from the audio out of your TV to the "aux" input on the panasonic system.
This is most likely a red and white connection which will give you stereo, or pro-logic surround from the home theater system.

SOURCE: why cant I supply my onkyo surround sound system
You need to assign the HDMI input(s) to the functions they represent, using the Front Panel Tuning/Preset control...
If you connect a video component to an HDMI input, you must assign that HDMI Input to an input selector in Setup.
For example, you could assign the “DVD” setting to “IN1”, and assign the
“CBL/SAT” setting to “IN2”.
Likewise if you use digital audio inputs...
Assigning the Digital Input
If there’s no sound, press the [DIGITAL INPUT] button repeatedly until sound is heard. The digital input is now properly assigned.
If you connect your DVD player to the AV receiver’s COAXIAL 1 DIGITAL IN, and your cable/satellite receiver
to the COAXIAL 2 DIGITAL IN, as shown, it’s not necessary
to assign the digital input.

I have a lg dvd/surruond sound and the remote suddenly stopped working. I bought a new lg riginal remote but still nothing, any thoughts?
Unit is in protect mode. Hold "advanced Surround" button and power switch for a couple seconds and it should turn on. If it turns back off, disconnect all your speaker wires and try again. If it still shuts off, the amp is bad and needs to go in for repair.
