My Panasonic PV-8661 will load a tape but will not run. It stops immediately after pressing Play, Fast Forward or Rewind. The large gear wheel just rotates back and forth.

There is a possibility of some damage to the mechanism. You will have too look around for plastic parts that are damaged.

Another possibility is the mode switch is playing up. This tells the electronics what position the mechanism is in. Sometimes a spray of Servisol Video 40 on it will cure it. But if it is worn out, then it won't. You can get them, but to fit it in you will need the service manual, as they are very tricky to set up right. For example they are rarely set up in the eject mode!

I have a Panasonic omnimovie Pv-610 and only one of my vhs tapes plays in fast forward mode, how can I fix?

If you mean just the one and the rest then it was probably recorded in Extended Play mode and nothing can be done.
Otherwise please explain your issues in more detail.

Error message "push the reset switch"

Pull the battery out to reset it. Get a DV tape cleaner to clean out the tape deck.

That should solve both.

VCR Model Panasonic NV-J45:- Until just yesterday, it worked fine, only last night I tried to play a tape, the green auto-tracking light flashed a few times as usual, then the tape just kept stopping, no...

The problem is caused by the idler assembly which controls play, record, rewind, and fast forward. If the take up reel stops, the vcr senses a problem and will stop the tape. The only other thing it can be is the drive belt, sometimes it will stretch and fall off or break. I suggest a tv technician or somebody that knows their way around a machine.

Video tapes only paly for about 2 seconds then stops

The heads need cleaning and/or the tapes are old and dirtying up the playing heads.
Run a wet tape head cleaner through an see if this improves.

The tapes In my Panasonic PV-GS14 are stuck and won't run

you cannot move the spindles/cogs in a mini dv tape without pressing down a small lever on the rear of the cassette.
the lever is in the lower right, move the lever, then move the ribbon protector to the open position, then spin the cogs, the tape should be free.
if not, then you have a jamm inside the cassette, you can open these casettes by removing 4 small screws. ( this is a very fiddly job & you may ruin the casette, if you dont know how )

VHS tape was playing . After stoping does not play. Other tape will play

The idler wheel (that only drives the tape in play or scan modes) is slipping too much (very common problem). Try verify this by putting the tape in play then immediately press the fast fwd or rewind buttons to scan the tape. On older machines, the idlers used rubber friction tires - on newer ones, a clutch. Either replace the tire or increase the spring tension on the clutch.
Hope Ya Fix It.
