They marine ice makers are fussy. The ice maker needs to be level or water will drip down into the ice bin. The amount of water entering the tray is controlled by time. The other factor is pressure. The marine water system has a relatively low water pressure as compared from marina water feed.

I would confirm the number of cubes produced from the unit when connected directly to the city water pressure. If at the highest pressure it is below expectations I would follow the video. How Do Adjust an Icemaker Home Appliances

There is a screen filter before the solenoid line that can fill with debris. So you may need to check it if you can not make a satisfactory adjustment.
If you are like me and always work form the internal water tank avoiding a burst water line and "sink the ship" then adjust it for the lower pressure.

I have an model 83ss raritan icer-ette ice maker on my boat. it seems to work however it allows more water into the ice cube tray and i always get a 2 inch cube of ice in the holder. Cures?

How old is the unit? The water delivery pump and hoses will wear out and leak over the years of service. This will happen to ANY icemaker product (refrigerators, etc)

Compartment only gets to 32 degrees. compressor runs, fan runs, water valve ok refrigerant ok doesn't get cold enough to activate water valve to fill tray.could it be cold control-relay-compressor ???

Ok 32 deg is freezing. If compressor is running and condenser fan is running and refrigerant psi is good then lets check Malfunctioning water valve assembly, check to see if you are getting water to water valve if so then check to see if you are getting power to water valve. Check mold heater, you don't want mold heater on at this time. It sounds like you are having a water or water valve issue.

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly

Here is what the manual says:

3A. Nonfunctioning water valve assembly. 3A. Clean or replace solenoid valve assembly.

3B. Mold heater assembly. 3B. Contact Raritan Technical Support.

3C. Water supply turned off. 3C. Provide pressurized water.

Although this is for troubleshooting non optical sensor refrigerators:

The troubleshooting procedures for cycling the unit are exactly the same,
The ice maker module part number for the 120V unit is PN 628366 (do a net search for this part number and save yourslef a bumch of money if you fetermine your moduleis bad) You start the harvest cycle by removing the front cover and then jumpering test points T to H. The white dial will begin to move if there is power to the module. Remove the jumper when the sweep arm reaches 5" o'clock and let the ice maker automatically cycle. It should harvest, and fill in on complete turn of the white dial. If it does not fill you probably have a water supply or water valve problem. There is an inline input power fuse for the ice maker. Power should come in via the red wire.

Mind you the ice maker has an internal thermostat behind the module assy that has to reach 15 deg F to start the harvest cycle. When you jumper T to H you are bypassing the thermostat. If the thermostat fails or the unit does not reach 15 deg F then the harvest cycle will never begin.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

Ice Maker Infrared light doesn't light

Each mold tray has a heating element that is turned on to free the ice cubes from the mold tray and allow them to fall into the ice bucket when the tray is rotated into harvest position. Sounds like that is not being turned on... or is defective..

Ice maker

the first problem is solved by reducing the amount of water that pours into the ice tray. the ice maker should have an adjustment for this. pry off the cover and look for a screw adjustment. they usually adjust volume by cw is more and ccw is less water. the last problem "melting ice" is related to the first. one way that I know how these work is a complete cycle time adjustment. the final step of dispensing is to turn on a low wattage heater to help pop the cubes out. now if the timer is running too slow, not only does too much water come in, but the heater is turned on for too long and causing "melting ice". Imagine a clock running with various events triggered by the clock's rotating switch that turns on certain components at the proper time and leaves them on for a finite time. your clock may be too slow.
