BIOS passwords can be reset or removed in two ways:

1. using software 2. using hardware..

I would first try resetting or removing using software, here are two software apps to reset or retrieve BIOS passwords.

Removing the cmos and replacing will not work, Toshiba uses an 8 pin surface mount epprom chip where the imformation is stored, removing power will not work. If you are the original owner of the laptop, Toshiba will reset the bios password for a fee " $100.00 " the only other option is to replace the epprom chip "available on ebay" but it is so small you will need somebody who is familiar with this type of work. The third option is sellers on ebay claim they can address this, be very carefull, not all can deliver.

please enter the password if you created a password before. you have to reset bios if you cannot get in to the windows.

A blue rectangular box, asking for a password? It is definitely the BIOS password.

The BIOS password is removed by the BIOS configuration, you need the BIOS password to get into the BIOS configuration.But if you do not have the BIOS password then you need to construct this dongle device.
TOSHIBA BIOS PASSWORD DONGLE
You can build a dongle that plugs into the printer port.Purchase a 25 pin male D sub connector and solder insulated wires to the various pins as listed below. The pins are numbered on the connector

Wire the pins as follows :-1-5-10, 2-11, 3-17, 4-12, 6-16, 7-13, 8-14, 9-15
Plug the finished dongle in the printer port and power up the laptop. The password will be reset, go into the BIOS configuration to check the BIOS password, you may have to disable the BIOS password.

The power-on password cannot be removed -- this is a "security" feature to prevent a thief from using your lappptop, after stealing it from you.

Find the original sales-receipt, to prove that you are the owner, and telephone Toshiba, and ask them for assistance.
