Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.

To change the belt of your Shark vacuum, you will need a flat head or a philips screw driver and a pair of scissors or a knife to clean your roller brush.
First, make sure to switch off your vacuum and is unplug from the power. In an upright position (vacuum), remove, empty and clean the dust cup. After cleaning the dust cup, lay down the vacuum horizontally on the floor to access the brush roller unit.
Using the appropriate screewdriver, flathead or philips (which will depend on the model of your vacuum), unscrew that holds the roller cover in place. When you lift the cover of the roller up and if it doesn't lift easily, don't force it because it probably means that you have missed one of the retaining screws. After you removed the cover, you will be able to see the roller assembly and the belt that drives it. If the belt has become worn, lost some teeth, or it has broken completely, you will need to remove the roller itself to be able to replace the belt. Clasp the end of the roller that is farthest from the belt between your fingers and lift it out of its holder. It should lift out very easily. You will then be able to lift out the other side of the roller that is attached to the belt and slip the belt on it. The other end of the belt, if it has not broken completely, will be attached to the motor shaft. That too can now be slipped off the end of the shaft.
With the roller bursh having been removed from the motorised head, I suggest you clean it. You may use a pair of scissors or knife to cut/remove the hair that are stuck. Be careful that you don't cut the bristles of the brush. Also, remove any debris that has found its way inside the roller cover at this point by using a wet towel or tissue.
To replace the belt, slide the new belt around the drive shaft of the vacuum cleaner and onto the seat. Then, replace the belt end of the roller, sliding the belt around the roller inside the plastic guides that are there to stop the belt slipping. Clip the far side of the roller back into the slots provided for it and adjust the belt as necessary to make sure that it is sitting squarely on the roller and the drive shaft and then check that the belt is tensioned properly.
Now, all you need to do is to replace the brush roller cover and tighten it down with the screws that you removed earlier. When you tighten the screws, they should be firmly screwed on, but don't overtighten the screws or you could crack the plastic casing. You can then reconnect the shark vacuum to the power supply and check that everything is working properly.
We have based this guide on the manufacturer's own guidelines, so you should have no problem with your Shark vacuum if you follow these steps.

How do I replace small belt on Panasonic MC-UG304?

Do you mean the beater bar belt or the motor shaft belt? If so, you need to set the vacuum in a horizontal configuration and turn the vacuum upside down. Next remove the five screws from the base plate and lift the base plate off.

To replace the motor shaft belt, remove it from the outer pulley and the motor shaft. Put the new belt on the motor shaft and the outer pulley. To replace the beater bar belt, release the motor shaft belt to allow access the beater bar. Lift up the beater bar assembly to remove the beater bar belt. Replace the beater bar belt. Replace the beater bar assembly. Replace the motor shaft belt. Turn the beater bar assembly by hand to check that the unit is seated correctly. Put the base plate back on the vacuum. Align the tabs on the base plate with the slots on the vacuum and replace the five screws.

The manual for the Panasonic MC-UG304 is available here: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/940210/Panasonic-Mc-Ug302.html . See page 5 for images of the steps.

I hope this helps.

Hello there! If you have replaced the belt and it is still slipping off, you may be not have the right belt for your vacuum. This unit takes a flat belt and a v-belt. Make sure you are replacing the belts with Genuine Hoover Parts. I have included the links below where you may go to order the belts specific to your cleaner.

I need to replace the belt. Have the belt and the vacuum bottom off. What do I attach the belt too?

This unit has 2 belts. The V-belt on the brush usually doesn't cause problems. The larger flat belt requires regular replacement ( belt # 38528-035 ). The belt is first placed around the motor shaft toward the rear of the machine, and then around the large pulley. You must have strong fingers to stretch the belt over the drive pulley. Start the belt at the top of the pulley, and try to "roll " it around the pulley a little at a time, holding the belt firmly around the pulley as you go.

Seems like the belt may be getting old and not picking up as much as it used to.

Belts need to be replaced periodically. If the belt is worn it will not pick up the way it should. You can get DC07 replacement belts here:

Installing belt

here are the step by step instructions from the owners manual for your machine.
Disconnect cleaner from electrical outlet. WARNING: Agitator brush roll can start suddenly. Unplug cleaner before turning it over. Replacing Flat Belt Place handle in low position and turn cleaner over so bottom side is facing up. Remove the 6 screws as shown with a Phillips screwdriver. Lift off bottom plate. Replace belt if it is stretched, cut or broken. To check the flat belt. Removing Bottom Plate Removing Belt Positioning Belt Remove used belt from large pulley and discard. Reposition bottom plate and 6 Phillips head screws. Tighten screws securely. Insert agitator brush roll through belt and position belt in groove (A) on agitator brush roll. Inspecting V-Belt The V-belt is designed to last for a long time and is not normally replaced. However, if the V-belt is cracked, gouged or broken, it should be replaced. Slide flat belt off large pulley. To remove V-belt, slide back of belt over pulley (A). Then firmly pull on belt and “snap” it out. Discard used belt. To install new belt (with lettering on outside of belt), slide back of belt over pulley and pull front of belt toward groove next to pulley. Belt will “pop” into place. Flat Belt: What to Buy Use only genuine HOOVER belts with your cleaner. When purchasing a new belt, ask for Flat belt - HOOVER part No. 40201-271. V-Belt: What to Buy Use only genuine HOOVER belts with your cleaner. When purchasing a new belt, ask for V belt - HOOVER part No. 40201-200.

1800 vacuum cleaner belt replacement

How do you get into the belt to replace it?

Not knowing the brand name of the vacuum other than the 1800 vacuum cleaner belt replacement, normally the belt is located @ the bottom the vacuum attached to the brushroll and is held on by either screws, clips, or some even snap on – but mostly they use some type of screws to open the area to replace the belt, if needed contact the company website, include the brand name and the model number and request a schematic of the vacuum and that will give you an exploded view of how the vacuum assm goes together and also shows the belt replacement and how that is connected.
