You cant operate tally with the other version data of tally
you will have to migrate the data
the migration data option is there in tally

    Restore Data

    • In the Company Info menu select Restore

    The Select Companies to Restore screen appears

    • In the Destination enter the path of the folder where the backup has to be restored.
    • In the Source enter the path of the folder/drive where the backup is stored.
    • Select the required company from the List of Companies displayed
    • Press Enter to restore the backup in the specified folder

    Migrate Data

    • Start Tally.ERP 9
    • Tally.ER9 will commence the process of logically migrating the data to Tally.ERP 9

    "IN STARTUP MENU WHILE SELECTING ACTIVATE LICENSE,IT SHOWS INCORRECT DATA,RUN ONLY IN VERSION 10.CAN U PLS TEL ME HOW TO TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM" my suggestion is first you change the data location in tally.ini file which is in your installed location then you have to try to activate the tally and after activating the tally you can Rechanged the Data location and rewrite the same

check if the version you are using on both the computers are same. If they are same also check for the release. If there is difference in the version and relase it wont work.
Try migrating the data from lower version to higher version or use same release on both the pc

In Tally ERP9, try the following:
Start Tally.
Press Ctrl+Alt+R. This will rewrite the data.
Now select the company. Confirm for rewrite. Take Backup.
After rewrite, you should be able to open the data and work.
Note: Please have a backup of the data before doing the above, just in case something goes wrong.
