Probably the back light inverter is faulty . Before going to buy a new inverter board tey to check the power supply. Which the bellow added video to know how to check a power supply board. You have to check the 24V power sto the inverter board from the power supply. if its not there then the problem is with power board. If its ok then you have to go for a new inverter board. Also try to replace the electrolytic capacitors in the power supply board. some times bad electrolytic capacitors can lead to back light failure.

It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.
Contact the authorized service centre; to buy a genuine PS board.

It sounds like a main board failure but could be a power supply issue as well. The set will need to be diagnosed

Power supply board just die.It can be dead at anytimes.Tries websites Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish power supply board for the replacement.
