Bernina 850 Industrial

Really depends on its overall condition, the accessories, has it been professionally serviced before it was listed for sale, and have you actually tested it. (Buyer beware!) If it is not a properly working machine, you may be facing extensive repair costs. If you are unfamiliar with sewing machines, then this is probably not the best machine for you. The similar domestic is the Bernina 830 Record which you can find for nearly the same price (depending on its overall condition, its operating condition, and included accessories).

An industrial machine is a different animal than a domestic machine, ie the industrial is made more for very, very fast sewing, ie high production and for sewing heavy fabrics, ie upholstery, leather, canvas, sails, etc. It probably also has special maintenance requirements other than a domestic machine, ie an oil pan. If you plan to do standard home sewing, the industrial is probably too much machine. However, if you know that you want an industrial machine for its special uses, then $400 could be a reasonable price. To know what the going price is, search sold items on eBay, etc.

I'm looking for a Manuel and a start up cd for a xl 400 singer embroidering machine..

Singer has the manual for the Futura XL400 on the product site: http://www.singerco.com/products/2168/xl-400-futura . The direct link to the instruction manual is http://www.singerco.com/uploads/download/bbd749beb7151a637824d777a05c51b4fb50b0a4.pdf . There is also a quick start guide. Additional documentation and driver upgrade software is here: http://futura-support.com/products/xl-400 . Unfortunately, Singer doesn't provide replacement CDs if you lost the original one. According to the directions for the driver upgrade, you need the CD to install the upgrade.

The software packages are available for sale at Amazon and other vendors. Some CDs may be available on E-bay.

I hope the manual helps.

I bought I 758 model zigzag sewing machine at yard sale, it works but sews slow and wants to stop while sewing what could ine wrong with it

I don't recognize your machine's brand.

The number one failure for most machines purchased at the thrift store, estate sale, or garage sale, is the machine needs a good cleaning and oiling--it has been setting a long time and old oil has solidified causing the moving parts to stick. Search the internet for an owner's manual--input Brand name, Model number + the word "manual." Read up on cleaning and oiling your particular machine. (The second failure is usually incorrect threading...)

If it is a mechanical (not computerized), you can do most of the work yourself (with time and lots of patience) using a good quality sewing machine oil (not 3-in-1, WD-40, or cooking oil). Do not oil any plastic parts or any cams unless directed to do so. If the moving parts are metal, you can usually speed up the process by directing hot air from a hairdryer into the interior of the machine (wear gloves so you don't burn yourself on the hot metal).

I bought a R-2000 never used Necchi at an estate sale. Did not thoroughly read the manual before beginning to sew. Now it will only sew a zig-zag--think I did not use the release knob before changi

since you bought the machine at a state sale it would probably be a good idea to have the machine serviced.
you should be able to go from straight stitch to zig zag with out any problems.
if you move the dials or knob & the machine will not do a straight stitch then it needs to be checked

Software is available from Babylock.com and the hoops are available from Amazon.com You might want to contact a dealer on line who sells this model. Here is one I found in Austin who sells your machine for 399.00 http://www.sewaustin.com/eblasts/MoreSew-LessDough/MoreSewLessDough.pdfThe dealer might be able to help or contact one in your state via phone.
A fully loaded used model sells for abt. 700.00 so you got a good deal!
A phone call or email is better than having to travel...Shame on Babylock.com for not helping you!
Good Luck and don't give up.

This must be wrong. As long as you have the dongle, and its an original one. Janome should swap it for a new one. You might have to pay for the exchange but it should be aloot cheeper than buying a new.

If not, send me an email on tonje (at) tonje . no and I will give you a good price for a new Digitizer Pro v.2.0
