I did the wrong puk code 3 times

this happen if there is some problem in the sim card holder port ....
there
will be loose contact inside the sim card holder is not touching the
circuit board inside due to this your sim card is getting rejected ...

you have told that the phone is a brand new one so i am sure that you
will be having the warranty so just make use of it by contact the
dealer with whom you have purchased or contacting the company customer
care number to get more information about how to make use of your
warranty ......
if you dont have the warranty then you must open the handset
and
just remove the circuit board & sim card holder and insert it again
so that the sim card holder touches the circuit board correctly ...
after this refit the phone then surely your sim will be accepted ....
it is better to use of warranty if you have ......
this is a simple problem if you dont have the warranty also you can only fix it ..

you just open the handset & set that sim card holder to touch the
circuit board that s enough everything will be done and works fine ...
if you are afraid of opening then you must just contact the technician ...

you may call your network provider regarding on this Dial 211 on your cellphone. The operator will assist you by telling that your SIM was blocked and it need a PUK code.
you must provide the Number at the back of your SIM card, you will require to give this to them, to be able to retrieve the PUK code for that SIM.

PUK means "personal unlocking key" .
The PUK code is asked if you enter a wrong pin 3 times.
You need to call your phone service company, they can retrieve the puk code from a database for free.
In your case you need to contact ASDA technical support to unlock the SIM.
The PIN and PUK are related to the SIM card, not to the phone.
If you replace the SIM card with a different one, then the phone should not ask for the PUK anymore.

If u have entered a wrong PUK no. less than 10 times, then u can contact customer care and get the PUK unblocking code (its free). Remember each sim card has a different unblocking no.
If you have entered wrong PUK no. 10 times or more, then this SIM card is blocked and will have to be replaced by a new one. You need to visit any airtel franchisee, purchase a new sim, and they will delete your old sim card details and add the details of new sim card into their system. A new sim probably costs around 245/- (i think, though don't remember when i purchased it last). You need to carry old sim card + ID proof + any airtel bill (if postpaid, may get required).
If your connection had been a Postpaid with regular payment history, I would have applied a different approach

Contact your sim customer care department over phone. Its free of cost to get the pin or puk no. If you cant contact through your phone get some other phone and contact them.
Go to the nearest service outlet of your service provider they can also help you.
There is no other go than the above procedure only your service provider cangive it nobody else in this world nor any software.
