Horizontal lines taking photos

With no apparent reason my camera CANON PS A95 started taking photos with horizontal lines.
The viewer is working fine, only the pictures get the lines.
I have reset my camera and formatted the CF card. Also used another CF card. Nothing helped.

If the viewer is working fine, then it is not the same CCD problems. If you sent this in to Canon for repair, I am sure they will charge you for it.

This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following two links for more info:

No image in viewer screen for some reason when camera is on (both still and video modes). Pinkish horizontal bar across viewer about 1/4 of screen height--depending on camera angle. Any fix? RC

If the menus and icons look normal, but images are distorted or discolored, you may have an image sensor (CCD) problem. See Canon's service notice regarding this issue here. Canon will repair your camera at no cost regardless of warranty. Contact them at your regional Canon service agency.

Showing horizontal lines with no color in all modes except the video mode. Worked fine for one pic and then went into this. Help please!!

Power shot a95 horizontal lines on image
