I see that you would like to know how to adjust the temperature within your Electrolux refrigerator, EI23CS55GS1. To adjust the temperature you would use the control panel on the front of the freezer door. There should be a "-"or "+" near the freezer temperature control and that is how you would adjust the temperature within your refrigerator. Be sure to check and make sure that the control lock is not on or you will not be able to adjust the temperature. Any adjustments made within the refrigerator need at least 24 hours to stabilize. 1 Measure the temperature of you refrigerator. To measure the temperature in a fridge without a thermostat, just place a normal thermometer in a glass of water and place it inside the fridge. Check back 5 to 8 hours later to see what temperature the water is. This allows you to determine the temperature indirectly.

2 Adjust the temperature. Once you've identified your refrigerator's temperature, it's time to change the settings. Turn the indicator to the left to make the temperature warmer, and to the right to make your refrigerator colder. It is important to only change the temperature gauge by one setting, regardless of how much you think it must be adjusted. This prevents freezing or thawing of food by making the change gradually.

3 Check the temperature again after 6 to 8 hours. If it's the temperature you want, you're set. If not, move the dial one setting colder or warmer, depending on your needs. The factory presets your temperatures to the MID / MID setting of 0? for the freezer and 37? for the refrigerator. Refrigerator adjustment range is -15? to +15? in the freezer and 33? to 47? in the refrigerator. Depending on ambient temperatures the temperatures will be + or - 6? the set point. Whenever you make a temperature adjustment, you need to wait 24 hours to notice any temperature difference.

To adjust your temperatures: Adjust controls according to your Use and Care guide. Start out by making sure your settings are at the factory setting of MID / MID. Make only one adjustment: Adjust one control and wait 24 hours before making another adjustment.

To measure temperatures: If you try to measure temperatures, it is important to follow these directions: Fresh Food Section: Put thermometer in a glass of water. Hi, Please use your thermostat to adjust your temperature setting. Most refrigerator thermostat is come with actual temperature setting at thermostat dial but it just use range : cold-medium-off ( or 5...5..3....1..0). So for instance to get your refrigerator colder just set between medium - cold. If your thermostat defective , your refrigerator will work unpredictably. In this case you need to fix or replace the thermostat.

2Set the glass of water with the thermometer in the refrigerator on the middle shelf.

3Check the temperature on the appliance thermometer after 24 hours.
The temperature should register between 37 and 40 degrees Fahrenheit (2 and 4 degrees Celsius) in order to store food safely.

4Look for the temperature control dial inside the refrigerator if you have to adjust the temperature, and make it warmer or cooler.

When looking at the refrigerator temperature dial, you may see numbers rather than degrees. The majority of refrigerators use a set of numbers, with the lower numbers representing cooler temperatures and the higher numbers representing warmer temperatures.

5Move the temperature dial in the necessary direction to adjust the temperature up or down. Be sure to move the dial only one number in either direction because it probably will not take much to change the temperature in the refrigerator.

6Adjust the temperature balance control if your refrigerator has such a dial or sliding switch. This allows you to direct more or less cold air to the refrigerator section from the freezer section.

First, run the control and thermistor test:

Control and Sensor System Self-Test (0 7)
This test checks all five thermistors located throughout the unit. Once the test is initiated, the test code (0 7) will stop flashing and the thermistor test results will appear on the freezer display in the test order listed below. The thermistor test sequence number will not be shown on the display. If the unit is not equipped with the Quick Chill option, the third thermistor (quick chill) will display a 0 and 3 audible beeps will sound at the temperature control panel. This is not a failure if the unit is not equipped with the Quick Chill option.

Thermistor test results:
• P = Pass
• 0 = Failed
• S = Short to 5 VDC
• B = Bad amplifier

When testing has been completed, do the following :
• Enter code 1 5 to completely reset the system. Then press the Hold button (or any other button than a temperature button) to accept the code.

When you're done, unplug the refrigerator for 10 seconds and plug it in....if it does not run, the board is bad.
