Hi Liz Landou, ew want to help you with your question, but we need more information from you. Can you please add details in the comment box?
Make and model number and operating system on new p.c. Does camera have a memory card ? You might be able to take memory card to a computer shop and see if a memory card reader device can read it into the p.c if software not available for later operating system .

I think there is a memory card in the camera - don't think there's a slot for it to be read by the new computer. I bought an HP touch screen which has Windows 10. I appreciate any advice you can give - I even tried to see if I could buy a new software disc on Amazon, but no matches for the search.

Just bought new camera it says msdc

The MSDC option in digital cameras stands for Mass Storage Device Class. It is one of the many subclasses of the USB computer peripheral connection protocol.

This class as implemented in digital cameras, allows a connection between a computer and a digital camera by showing the digital camera, when connected to the computer, as a removable disk drive, temporarily attached to the computer. Pictures taken are retrieved using either cut and paste, copy and paste or drag and drop from the digital camera's picture folder onto a real hard drive or other writeable media available in the computer.

In addition, arbitrary data (does not have to be pictures) can be stored in the digital camera's onboard memory to the limit of the memory. The MSDC device class can be implemented by any kind of electronic device which has embedded memory storage in any form such as flash memory, IDE hard drives, etc.

I have misplaced my disc for my canon powershot A570IS and want to download some pictures. I have already downloaded them but they apear to be missing and the computer says there are not images but there...

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

My camera's reading "disc error". I need to retrieve the pictures

Get a card reader and use it to download the pics to a computer. Then, format the card in the camera to get it to work properly again.

The video camera footage won't download onto the computer. i re-enstalled the disc that came with and have even tried other progams to retrieve footage but have had no luck

You must 1st tell computer that you have a camera and the computer MUST see the camera as a another h/d [hard drive] or a device. >>MY COMPUTER [ICON] >> or EXPLORER (RIGHT mouse button ) >> START>>choose 'explorer', close the c: drive in folder and you should see c: drive, d: drive, CD,DVD rom-ram (whatever you have) and the device that represents the video camera should show. open it like a folder. If you don't see it, you did not install it properly or it is not compatible with your system.

Getting Pictures Off My Camera and Onto My Computer

It sound like you have a problem with your memory card.
But I would try buying a card reader as well. Whether it turns out to be the card or not.
there are alot things that can go wrong when trying to use your camera to transfer the images instead of a card reader. a card reader shouldn't cost you more than 20 dollars.
It will also make transferring your images faster.
in the camera when you hit the review button do the images show up on the lcd screen of the camera?

Hope that works,
Caleb

Sanyo digital camera

You shouldn't need any extra software to download your pictures. Most digital cameras are accessible through windows just by plugging them in. Then you can browse through your camera and copy them accross manually. I imagine the Sanyo disc may have had a program that made this automated but I doubt you will find it for download as it would probably have copyrighted material on it. In any case I cannot find it for download.

Good Luck.
