The fill plug is on backside of engine, dip stick is on front. Page 3 page 8. If the carb float does not shut off you need to replace carb, this will stop fuel from flowing and into engine oil.
Could be bad gas or clogged carb. Drain the gas tank, fill with fresh gas with Stabile. Remove the bowl from the bottom of the carb and clean the carb. All mowers now have a low oil cutoff sensor, ensure the oil is full. Did you check for a blown fuse? Battery fully charged, 12.8 volts or higher.
If you have an oil level switch on this generator, it could be that you have low oil level or the switch is bad. Check the oil level. Bypass the oil level switch.
How old is the fuel in the tank, and how full is the tank? Fuel goes bad with time due to the ethonol turning to gummy varnish like substance. Not keeping a tank full allows condensation to form on the inner walls, contaminating the fuel with water. Drain the tank completely and fill with new gasoline.
How did you "clean the carb?" If it was not completely disassembled, soaked in carb cleaner, and all jets and ports blown out with air, you could have blockages from the "bad gas."
When the carburetors over flow enough to fill the exhaust, It is possible that the gas also went into the cylinder and flowed past the rings and into the crankcase. With the engine overly full of gas and oil you could easily pop a seal or blow out a gasket. Check your oil level. If it is too full , change the oil, it will not lubricate properly with all the gas in it. Check that your shaft seal has not popped out. Check the air filter, the breather may have blown oil and gas all over it when you started the bike. Empty your pollution tubes behind the motor( they will drain the air box). Get in the habit of turning your fuel petcock off when not riding. This gas flooding happens randomly in certain models but can happen to any one.
Karcher Model G2650 OH with Honda 6.0 HP, GC 190 Engine. Engine won't start. New gas, has spark. Seems to flood instantly. Much gas in cylinder. Spark plug wet. Choke pulled out, power on. Oil OK. released pressure in line. Where can I down load a Honda Engine manual! Thank you !
I would completely empty the oil out, add the proper amount and see if the problem re-occurs. It is pretty hard for gas to get into the oil reservoir unless someone did it for you.
if gas is in the oil the needle and seat in the carb are bad or some thing in it. the gas will go in to the crank case and load the cylinder with gas. you can take the carb apart to see if something is in the seat. or replace the carb
If you have to run with the choke on, it's having problems pulling gas thru the carb. Start making sure that you're using fresh gas/oil mix. Don't attempt to use last years leftover in the tank or a spare can. Bad news... won't fire well. Second, pop the carb lines off the carb and flush with carb spray cleaner (use the nozzle tube that comes with the can). Third, check for cracks, breaks, leaks in the supply and return hoses. Replace any damaged hoses. Disconnect the carb from the engine and spray all jets, orifices with carb cleaner (I like the Berryman's B-12 spray) and reinstall. Also, pull the filter out of the air filter and clean, reinstall. While you're at it, pop the spark plug out and clean the tip with carb spray as well. Finally pour in a fresh gas/oil mix...start as usual. should be alot better!
pour a little raw fuel into carb intake. try to start. if engine runs for a few seconds and quits the problem is more than likely a clogged carb. go to auto store and get a gallon can of carb clreaner and dissassemble carb and lower into bucket and let soak over nite. you'll want to get a carb kit to replace any gaskets that may get messed up during tear down. when you go back together make sure to wash any residue of cleaner out of carb and use a small nozzel air blower on air hose to blow out ALL passages any needle valves have to screw into. take a can of carb cleaner and with the small straw place over hole and squirt into hole. make sure cleaner come out some where in carb body. that way you know all the passages are open. reassemble and crank her up.also invest in a compression guage. remove pllug and screw gauge into plug hole. pull sharply at least 5 times and see what the reading on the guage is. should be at least 70 or better. if rings and valves in good condition don't be surprised at a reading of 120 or better.
