Check and replace damaged component/s at its horizontal scan output section circuit. Check the LOT (Line Output Transformer) too for damage. Replace the horizontal scan output transistor. Check the input voltage to LOT. If the voltage is absent check the feeder resistor; if any. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. My Sony KV-36XBR800 will no longer turn on when power is pressed it clicks and sounds like it's turning on but the screen stays black and the stand by light blinks 7 times.

7 times mean no horizontal deflection. So check horizontal output an solder of it and associate parts.Often resistor and transfo driver of base of h. output.

Light blinks 7 times when i try to turn it on. sony kv 36xbr800

Are you sure it isn't eight......try turning on this method....display, 5, vol+, power on. Should bring it on in the diagnostic mode. Mine and about kazillion other owners have the same problem, bad M board and they never issued a recall on it. Costs 2-300 to have someone repair it, cause its' too heavy to carry it in, I think they used cement in the bottom for weight.

Sony model # kv-36xbr800

The standby light should be blinking a repeating count with a 2 second pause between counts. Can you post hte count here please? That will help to determine the effected circuit and the solution.

Thanks,
Dan
