Grease dripping from bottom of microwave

sometimes when a microwave is mounted above a range some people dont always consider that you have to take into consideration that you have to go by the heat rating guidelines because it will melt the white lithium grease off the gearing and it can possibly melt some of the protective coating from the circuit boards so check if it is rated to be placed above a range and go from there

I've got grease dripping down from the top left inside corner of my otr microwave. I've cleaned the grease filters. Is it a problem with the vent to the outside?

Without a long explanation as to why but they will get a build up. At this juncture i would be prudent to just clean it well. Because it will require you to remove the outer cover, you must disconnect it. Be careful when you do this, no metal objects. It has parts that store electric. Once you open it you will see the build-up. Do not open the metal box, it is the part that stores the electric.

Lubricant leak from round disk on the inside top of the microwave (piece has open and close written on it).

That would be the stirrer cover, and the leak is probably grease that has gotten into the area above the cover.

The cover, stirrer and exposed area under the cover needs to be cleaned thoroughly to prevent arcing and to allow for proper stirrer of the weaves for even cooking.

Microwave shorted out when metal grease filter contacted inside

It might be that the internal power fuse of the MW may have blown. You may have to just replace that fuse if possible. Other wise the electronics (most likely a circuit board) may have been blown.

Deep Cleaning techniques for GE spacemaker Convection microwave

Try simple green. It is great at eating through grease. It may take a few times but it works. It is biodegardable. I used it at one of my old jobs for cleaning grease off of glass and use it in my home as well.

GE Spacemaker appears to be sparking inside/top

1.Needs to remove that disk and clean the grease under it.
2. With sand paper clean dark burn spots.
3. Apply touch paint on open metal spots.
4.Put everything back.

GE Microwave is arcing inside

Quite often this is due to grease or food particles stuck to the inside of the oven or stuck on or behind the waveguide cover.

The waveguide cover is usually about the size of a playing card and often held in place by a plastic rivet.

In some models it is the plastic ceiling.

It can be fragile, and the metal edges of the oven behind it can be sharp, so be careful!

The cover and the metal behind it should be cleaned with a mild, non-ammonia cleaner.

If the cavity metal of the oven is chipped or charred, it will have to be sanded smooth and clean and dried thoroughly.

Then you can apply some high-temperature appliance paint, available from places like Wal-Mart, Lowe's or Builder's Square.

If your waveguide cover is burned, it will need to be replaced.

If you need more specific help, please reply back with your brand and full model number.

One touch

This is an odd failure for this model, assung yours is a model MH1150XMQ, since it does not have a humidity sensor. So it sounds like you may have a bad kepad or controller, or maybe moisture or grease got onto the board, casuing it to fail. If you or a friend decide to work on it, we have *critical* safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk Below is our information on keypads, too: A bad keypad may be worn out due to age, damaged, or it may have gotten wet or otherwise contaminated. Moisture and contamination can be caused by not using the fan when boiling on the stove top (for over the range models), direct spraying of cleaners, by storing the microwave in an unheated garage or shed, or infestation. I warn my customers to never spray cleaner directly onto the microwave keypad, since the liquid can get inside and "lock up" or even ruin the keypad or controller. Apply an alcohol-based cleaner (such as the purple kind) to a cloth (since paper towels can scratch) and gently wipe it off. I suggest to my customers that they NEVER use any ammonia-based cleaner (like the blue stuff) on a microwave, since the ammonia will crack and distort polycarbonate plastics. DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING THE MEMBRANE SWITCH (KEYPAD) 1. The keypad connection is the green or blue translucent plastic strip that plugs into a connector near the edge of the control circuit board. 3. There are two tiny tabs (one on each side) on the hood of the connector that you can gently pull up on to unlock the connector. Use equal and gentle fingertip force when pulling up. 4. The old keypad strip will lift out. 5. Put the new keypad strip in, making sure both sides are down fully. (If you are not installing a new keypad, clean yours with a pencil eraser or a soft cloth and alcohol.) 6. While holding the strip down, push the connector hood back down to lock it.
