Why does the power light on my dehumidifier flash quickly?

I have cleaned the filter, checked the circuit breaker, changed outlets but the unit will not work. It was working fine yesterday until the water bucket filled up and I emptied it.

Without the model number I cant be 100% sure , but due to your description of the last thing u did , Id say the light is flashing indicating that the water catch bucket is not installed correctly back as it was before , most units have a safety that wont allow a unit to operate unless the water catch bucket is installed and M/T as this would allow it to dump water to the floor if it were not

SOURCE: Dehumidifier Error?

This error code indicates that the problem is most likely a shorted defrost thermistor or possibly a pinched wire going to the thermistor. You will need to replace the sensor assembly - part # 6877A30013L. The Sears website has it listed for 9.99 + shipping. The humidity sensor & defrost thermistor come together in a wiring harness that plugs onto the main circuit board. It is fairly simple to repair. Just remove the front & rear grill & the metal cabinet. Remove the thermistor from the copper tube on the cooling lines; remove the humidity sensor from the front of the evaporator; pull the wire plug off the bucket switch; & remove the small 7 pin plug from the main circuit board inside the metal control box. Reverse procedure to install new sensor assembly.

SOURCE: Water condenses on top of dehumidifier

Your unit has a sealed system leak. The sealed system is warrantied for five years. Check your owners manual for this info. You will need your receipt and to call an authorized LG warranty dealer to exchange it.

SOURCE: the P1 light is on

P1 means the evaporator coils are freezing up.The P1 error is related to low airflow. This can be due to clogged or dirty filter.Take the filter out and clean it, if its dirty the dehumidifier can frost up due to the lack of air flow and will not work correctly. In some cases if the filter is too old then it has to be replaced. This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Dehumidifier norpe keeps going on and off

If your Norpole dehumidifier is repeatedly starting and stopping, it could indicate a problem that needs to be addressed. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
  1. Check the humidity settings: Ensure that the humidity level set on the dehumidifier is reasonable and not too low. If the desired humidity level is already reached, the dehumidifier may turn off until the humidity rises again.
  2. Clean the air filter: A dirty or clogged air filter can restrict airflow and cause the dehumidifier to overheat. Turn off the dehumidifier, unplug it, and locate the air filter. Remove the filter and clean it according to the manufacturer's instructions. Allow it to dry completely before reinstalling it.
  3. Check the water collection bucket: If the water collection bucket is full, the dehumidifier may automatically shut off. Empty the bucket and ensure it is properly positioned back into the unit.
  4. Verify the drainage system: If your dehumidifier is equipped with a continuous drainage option, make sure the drainage hose is properly connected and not clogged. If the drainage hose is obstructed or improperly installed, it can cause the dehumidifier to turn on and off.
  5. Ensure proper ventilation: Make sure the dehumidifier is placed in a well-ventilated area. Restricted airflow around the unit can lead to overheating, triggering the auto shut-off feature.
  6. Power supply issues: Check the power cord and make sure it is securely plugged into a functioning power outlet. Also, ensure there are no issues with the circuit breaker or electrical supply.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, it's recommended to consult the user manual or contact Norpole customer support for further assistance. They will be able to provide more specific troubleshooting steps or advise on potential repairs or service options.

Frigidare fad704tdp evaporator not working, unit does run

Good Morning Friend,

I understand that the evaporator is not working on your Frigidaire dehumidifier, model# FAD704TDP, even though the rest of your appliance is still running. Please check the following:

1)Please make sure there is enough clearance around your dehumidifier. There needs to be a minimum of 12 inches all around your appliance for it to operate correctly.

2)Make sure that the air movement through your dehumidifier is not blocked. Clean the grill with the brush attachment of your vacuum. Also, clean the filter. You will do this by removing the bucket, then pulling the filter downwards. Wash the filter with clean water, and then dry. Re-install the filter, and replace the bucket.

3)Your appliance is designed to operate between 41 degrees F (5 degrees C), and 96 degrees F (35 degrees C). Your dehumidifier will not work properly if the temperature is out of this temperature range, or the performance of your appliance will fall greatly.

4)The "Compressor" circuit has an automatic 3 minute time
delayed start if the unit is turned off and on quickly. This prevents overheating of the compressor and possible circuit breaker tripping. Make sure the tank is fitted correctly otherwise your appliance will not turn on.

I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

    -Best Regards-

No power. Plug in and nothing happens.

Before jumping to any conclusions, remove the water collection bucket and check the inside of the bucket for a float valve (if yours is so equipped). It may be stuck in the UP position, which will not allow the unit to start. If it is, jiggle the arm of the valve to make it return to the down position.
Reinstall the bucket "squarely" into the bucket holder, making sure that the back of the bucket makes good contact with the bucket safety removal switch. This is important, because if it doesn't, the unit will not start.

If all of the above fails, check the outlet the unit is plugged into, to be sure the outlet still has power. If it doesn't check your home's circuit breaker panel for a tripped circuit breaker. If you find one, unplug the unit, before resetting the breaker. Aslo, check the outlet for a loose wire connection.

Hope this helps you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Will not turn on no indicator lights filter and coils are clean is there a breaker inside somewhere

No, no breaker. It may simply be the case of the water collection bucket is not installed properly. When that happens, nothing will work. Remove the bucket and check the top of the inside of the bucket for a float valve (if yours is so equipped). It may be stuck in the 'UP' position, which makes the unit think the bucket is full & everything turns OFF. If you see one, and the float valve is UP, jiggle the arm of the float valve to get it to return to the DOWN position.

Whether your unit has a float valve or not, when you reinstall the bucket, be sure to install it "squarely" from top to bottom, so that it makes firm contact with the bucket safety removal switch on the back wall of the bucket holder. When installed properly, the bottom of the bucket should not tilt down at all.

If none of the above solved solved the problem,it may be an electrical issue. The circuit breaker for the outlet it's plugged into may have tripped. Check your home's circuit breaker panel for a tripped breaker. If you find one, unplug the dehumidifier before resetting the circuit breaker. Also, the wall outlet may be damaged or have a loose wiring connection.

All of the above are things that you should troubleshoot first. It's a process of elimination to determine what is causing the problem.

I hope this has helped to get you started on solving the problem. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

I have no power to my LG Dehumidifier lhd45ely7. I left it running and came in my basement and it will not turn on. I saw the filter was completely filthy and cleaned that but it still did not turn back...

Scott, first make sure that tere is still electric power to the unit. Check the circuit breaker for that outlet to see if it's been tripped. Or perhaps, there's a loose wire connection in the receptacle. If all that checks out as good. If the circuit breaker has been tripped unplug the unit, before resting the breaker. Also, check the water collection bucket to see if it's full. If it is, empty it and properly reinstall it in it's holder

In addition, there are 5 basic, yet solvable reason for what you described.

1. The humidity extraction level is set to HIGH. Lower it to 32-35%
.
2. Air intake filter is dirty or clogged. Turn unit OFF, & Unplug the
Unit, before removing to inspect & clean it, if necessary. If washed,
allow filter to completely dry before reinstalling. DO NOT operate
the unit without the filter.

3. Obstructed air flow. Maintain a minimum of 12 to 18" of clear air
space around the entire unit.

4. Cooling coils are dirty and need to be cleaned. Use warm water & dish washing liquid to
clean the coils. Rinse and wipe dry. Apply a light coating of WD40 to the coils.

5. Ambient air temperature at floor level is between 40 - 60 degrees.
dehumidifiers do not work well between those temperatures
(Unless, you have a Low Temp Unit). This applies mainly to
where the air temperature at floor level is colder than at shoulder level
in basement applications. Raising the unit up off the floor,
onto a sturdy table, counter top, etc, that can handle the weight
of the unit, plus a full tank of water, will usually resolve this
problem.

I hope this helped you to troubleshoot & solve the problem. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Dehumidifier has stopped working...it appears to be electrical..no switches are working and no lights are on.

Check the outlet that the unit is plugged into, to be sure that it's still has power. If it doesn't, a circuit breaker for that outlet may have tripped. Or the outlet receptacle may have a loose wire. Try plugging the unit into another outlet that is not on the same circuit, as the one it's currently plugged into.

Plug the unit in, hit the power switch nothing not even the lights for the buttons.

Check the outlet that the unit is plugged into, to make sure that it has power. The circuit breaker for that outlet may have been tripped. Also make sure that the outlet is not damaged inside or there could be a loose wire connection or a frayed wire to the outlet.

Hope this helped you to start troubleshooting and solving the problem.

Demudifier worked great, all a sudden it just stopped. No power. Now it won't start up. What should I try?

First, check the outlet that it's plugged into, to make sure that there's still power to the outlet. If there isn't, then the circuit breaker for that outlet has been tripped, in your home's circuit breaker panel. Leave the dehumidifier unplugged and reset the circuit breaker. If it trips again, without the dehumidifier unplugged, then the outlet is at fault. Perhaps there's a loose wire connection or the interior of the outlet is cracked.

If it didn't trip without the dehumidifier plugged in, plug the unit it in,. But, before you do, make sure the dehumidifier's Master ON/OFF Switch is OFF. Once it's plugged in, turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON and set your controls. If it runs now, GREAT! If it trips the circuit breaker again, there's either a short in the power cord or an internal electrical short. Which will require extensive troubleshooting to find.

Hope this helps you solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

I have cleaned the filter that is located in the front; however it still won't turn on, what could be wrong? thank you

If you're not getting any indicator lights, check the receptacle that it's plugged into. Is their power to it? If not, the circuit breaker in your home's circuit breaker panel may have been tripped. Or the outlet itself may be faulty (loose wire, poor connection, etc). If the indicator lights are working, but the compressor is not, turn the Master ON/OFF switch on the unit to OFF and wait 10 minutes before plugging it back in. This will give the electronics time to reset themselves.

Hopefully, the above will solve you problem.
