There are buttons on the transmitter/receiver and the mouse(small red on bottom). Turn off the mouse. Plug in the USB Tx/Rx and hold down the button. Then press the red button on the mouse and hold for one second. Do this until the rapidly flashing light on the Tx/Rx slows down. The unit's frequencies are then encoded/decode and can communicate.
my samsung laptop is green when charged, red when charging. try turning it on with the power adaptor plugged in and the battery removed. if this works, i assume your battery is damaged
I would check the power adapter with a voltage meter. It sounds like the adapter might be defective. The wire at the end of my adapter broke after a month or so of use. I picked up a targus replacement. The only problem since then is the targus plug is a bit loose. Best wishes
SOUNDS LIKE A BAD MOUSE, AND WHEN YOU GET THE NEW ONE DO NOT OVER CHARGE. I.E NO CHARGING OVER NIGHT THE DIRECTIONS WILL SAY SOMETHING LIKE CHARGE FOR 4-6 HOURS NEVER DO OVERNIGHT CHARGING WITH ANY ELECTRONICS
If the Red Light is on the batteries should be good enough to function. Try
Normal

Turn the mouse over and find the small
rest/connect button on the bottom of the mouse and press it.
This should connect the mouse to the receiver and work properly.
If not, try pressing the receiver button and then press the button on
the mouse. This should be done whenever you change batteries or
glitch.
Hope this helps you. Bud
