Does din for car steros matter if prop mounting equip is purch?

This is the best way to do it. First, buy a radio. I doesn't matter what kind, you can have tape deck, or cd. Anything you can get at a place that sells car radio's that is a single din sized.

Then get the in dash adapter kit. this will make the radio fit in the space. If you have a double din space, which is twice the size of most after marked head units your gonna need this, and that what you most likely have. If you do you could actually get a double din size radio if you wanted but they are usually $$.

Next get a " 1993 chevy to (what ever brand radio you have) adapter". So if you get a sony head uning, then get a "1993 chevy to sony adapter"

Note some times they come in to peices, "car to universal, then universal to radio type."

you never want to cut the stock wiring harness plug off. You just make wiring the radio a pain, and if you ever want to change it down the road, its another pain.

Use the adapter to connect the radio easily. Remove the radio, usually there are screws under a cover part of the dash. this peice usually come off by pulling it, and usually has no screws, but chey some times has a couple.

then there should be 2 screws on each side to remove the unit.

Install the din adapter to fit the new radio, then plug in the wire with the adapter.

before you replace all screws and covers, test the radio to make sure it works because if you don't and you forgot a plug you will have do undo everything again.

if everything seems good replace screws and covers.
