Will bobbins for 500 fit 401A Slant o matic - Sewing Machines

It could be that the bobbin case is old and worn (normal with wear-n-tear). You should be able to find a replacement that will work. Check at the local sewing repair shop.

You may be lucky enough to find a used set on eBay or some other for-sale venue, but it is difficult finding a complete set of anything for older goods. You may have to piece to get what you need and even then, there are some items that are very difficult or impossible to find.

You can also check out joining a specialized Yahoo group for your machine and post there for more information about where to look. Frequently, you will run across members who actually have a stash of parts, accessories, and whole machines that they would be willing to sell.

There are online sewing supply businesses who may sell what you need.

If the machine will still sew, consider purchasing a stand-alone bobbin winder from the local fabric store (JoAnn's or Hancocks) or from Amazon.com.
