My mom has this Genie installed on her garage door. The door opens randomly on its own. She has changed the batteries in the remote and the keypad. Somebody told her the sun could be interfering with a sensor, so she has blocked all the windows. The door is still opening on its own - not every day, and not at any specific time. Once it's open, it stays open. Otherwise, there is no problem opening or closing the door, either with the remotes or at the keypad. We're losing our minds trying to figure this one out!! Any help is appreciated!
Can you change the toggle switches in the remote and door controller to a different code than it is set on now. Like the two devices must match but hopefully the neighbor code for their door will then be different. Also can you change the frequency ?

I had a thought what if the power is the possible cause. Like brownouts occurring that affects the door controller. A Power line conditioner might be needed. Can't be sure it is the actual cause but may be worth considering.
