I have an Amana Self-Cleaning Range ARG7600. It is plugged into an outlet that is working but no lights come on. Does this model have an internal fuse that might be blown?

No fuses. All power is routed through the electronic control on the front of the range. The electronic control (ERC) will need replacing.

Where are the fuses

I was looking at the schematic for your range. it does not show any fuses other than the e.o.c.

electronic oven control board. I would check to make sure your range outlet has power with

a voltage meter. if you have power, but the range still does not work it has to be the electronic

control board. good luck!

Was replacing the oven light while screwing in the new bulb it popped and the entire unit went dark? entire range is now not working... no power at all. checked breaker panel and all was fine....

Hello and thanks for choosing FixYa.

To start off make sure that the electrical outlet the range is connected to has power and is functioning properly. You can do this by simply plugging another appliance into the outlet. It is possible that the breaker will not be tripped and the electrical outlet is shorted out. If you find the outlet is bad then it will need to be replaced obviously.

When you were installing the bulb you might have somehow shorted out the electrical system for the range. This could have been caused by loose wiring to the bulb socket. And by trying to install the bulb you may have shifted the wires causing a short. If this is the case then the socket and or wiring will need to be repaired/replaced.

There will be a fuse located inside the range where the main power wires come in. This is there to protect the key components inside the range from an electrical short. This fuse is usually an in-line fusable link and not a standard plug type. The location and fuse type can vary from unit to unit and consult the wiring schematic located at the back of the range(usually inside panel). The schematic will guide you to the fuse location. To check this you will need to remove the back panel of the range and then test for power at each leg before and after the fuse. If you are getting power and the fuse is tested good then you may have damaged the ERC(brain) of the unit.

Some things to consider is the following...

1. Is the range under warranty? You might not want to dis-assemble the range if it is still under warranty. This damage might be covered under a warranty.

2. How comfortable and experienced with ranges? Not to discourage you from trying to repair yourself but improperly repairing a range can be dangerous. As with all repairs you will assume all risks including dangers of fire and electrocution.

Let me know if you have any other questions...

I hope you find my advice helpful and thanks for using FixYa.

WE have a GE Stove top Range. The burners aren't

If you have power to the stove as in the oven light works and the clock works but the burners and oven will not work you only have 120 volts coming to the stove. The stove requires 240 volts for the burners and oven to work. Check the service panel for a blown fuse. There will be 2 fuses in the fuse holder. One of them is blown. If that is not the case then one of the wires has come loose either in the service panel or in the outlet behind the stove. Use a multimeter to check the input voltage at the outlet.

My stove digital lights are off and it will not light. The gas do work; I can smell it when i turn it on. what should i do

Well first you want to verify that the range is getting power from your electrical outlet. It is possible that the GFCI has tripped causing no power to the outlet. Once you have verified that there is power to the range you will next need to unplug the range and remove the back panel to do a visual inspection. Verify that there are no loose or disconnected wiring. Also look for any melted wiring or parts. Also check for any burned electrical odor. There might be an inline fuse located inside the range usually located on the hot side of the incoming electrical wire. Verify that this fuse is not blown. If the fuse is bad then you could try replacing it but if it blows again then there might be a short somewhere. And make sure you replace the fuse with the same rating that you removed. If the fuse is good then you might have a bad control board.

No power

If you mean absolutely no juice and haven't done so already, you need to check the breaker or fuse first. If the breaker/fuse is off flip the switch and try the oven. If the fuse trips again, you have a short someplace.

Obvious places would be the cord and outlet. To check these, turn the power off again and pull the stove out. Follow the cord and check it for broken areas areas. Then look at where it connects to the stove. Check the outlet and make sure that is intact.

If you see no problems with the outlet, the easiest way to check it without a tester is to simply plug another device into it.

Hi, my oven and the aux outlet does not work. All the stove elements, flourescent top light and oven lights work fine.

The oven elements and that outlet probably share a high amperage fuse. You may have to pull the range out and remove the upper back panel to find the mount for the fuse. Please don't leave the range plugged in while doing so.
