My Symphonic TV is tinted green and is getting worse. Should I be worried? What should I do?

It is just tinted green, but it turned a really lime green color. The TV is on all night and most of the day. I think it is a color tube. What should I do? And should I have it off or is it fine? The tinted darker green has been off and on for 2 -3 years. The lime green just was once but I am afraid it will happen again.

SOURCE: Blue Tint

Most likely cause would be a loose solder connection that expands as the set warms up until it no longer makes a connection. You may get the blue to come and go by hitting the side of the cabinet after the set is warmed up awhile. (don't hurt your hand doing this, and don't keep doing it to "fix" the set. The connection will have to be located and repaired). Otherwise, there could be a component going bad, including the blue picture tube.

SOURCE: Sanyo Tv color problem

Hello, The TV is four years old. About two weeks ago the screen suddenly had a complete red tint. I tried adjusting the color settings but nothing really improved. the next time I turned it on, it was fine. But the time after that it turned red again. Now it more and more often has a deep red tint. Any advice? Thanks please do not adjust any thing. your problem is in red color cathode ckt it might be loose contact in red cathode. crt base might be loose. check red output supply. signal line from chroma ic to crt base. regards thanks

SOURCE: Negative type images in pink & lime green

I had the same problem....turned out it was the "lvds" cable that runs from the mainboard to the lcd controller board. Simply remove the tape that holds it to the back of the backlight housing and also remove the foil shielding tape from the connector on the lcd controller board.

Green tint that i cant get out, getting worse, less than a year old. Dark scenes are really bad

Another thought is that if the A1 voltage is too low, the tube will not track correctly. Either that or a replacement tube I would say without seeing the tv.

What would cause my jvc tv have a green tint

It sounds like you can have optical engine issue. That's if green tint was show up very gradually, until one day it really caught your attention.Normally some parts of the screen more green than other. It should get progressively worse. To solve this issue optical engine have to be replaced. It is pretty expensive repair if your TV is out of the warranty.
In case if tint appeared suddenly in one moment - you can try to check component cable connection on the back of your TV if you are using one ( green, blue and red colored). Sometimes it's loose or after disconnection people reconnecting it in wrong way.
Experienced tech will determine if optical engine is bad by running test patterns in special service mode. If green tint present on Grey scale - optical engine is bad.
Sorry for bad news.
Regards.

I have a Symphonic 32" Color TV the picture is red. I need a tv repairman person to come out and look at the TV.

the dives or guns are out of balance. either the blue and green circuits are weak or the red drive is maxed out. when picture tubes are getting old, this normally occurs.
another thought is that the tint is incorrect and saturated. what is the picture quality details?

Rear projection HD Hitachi Ultravision always has greenish tint

This is what you're going to do, Turn on the Tv and go to the service manual, if the green tint is still there, you have a defective dmd board, but if it's no there, then you have an issue with your video board

KV-32FS120 makes a loud noise and green tint when turned on

Loud noise is possibly made by Degausing Coil to demagnetize picture tube and its normal.
Green tint shows picture tube is bit weak in electron emission due to its age and takes time to present good white balance result (good colors)

Vizio liquid crystal tv l32hdtv

Check the cable connections and/or replace the cables to the AV2 input.

If replacing the cable doesn't provide a solution, try running your DVD through the input. Since it works fine now, you would be checking the input AV2 by putting your working DVD. If the DVD plays with no problems, the input is fine.

Also try the VCR using coax into the TV instead of RCA into AV2. This will give you some idea about the condition of the VCR.

I suspect either the VCR or the cables.

Screen Green Tint

Turn down your color and see if the screen has a normal black & white screen. If it doesn't then the CRT is bad (picture tube). If it is black & White then you have a either lost your red or blue. That problem will be in your video driver circuit of which a service center can handle.
