You have to remove All the screws, and you are correct they are almost impossible, after that most of the part's also snap together, so you almost have to break it to take apart, a vacuum repair shop knows all the tricks to opening these up....

Shark rotator nv340 roller brush is not spinning

just found this from another fixya member....There are a number of reasons why your brush roll has stopped spinning on your Shark Rotator. Here are a few things to check for when trying to fix your Shark.

First things first lets focus on the brush roll. Unplug the vacuum and turn it on its side. Look for any noticeable clumps of debris or hair strands that may be caught in the brush roll. Remove these obstructions, probably best to do so with a scissor if it's hair or long pieces of carpet fibers. After removing the debris try manually rotating the brush roll to uncover other hidden clogs. Another thing to take note of is the condition of the bristles on the roll itself. Are they loose or worn down? These are signs that your brush roll is in need of replacing.

While checking out your brush roll you might as well take a look at your vacuums belt. This could be the other reason why your brush roll has stopped spinning. Your belt should be replaced about every three months. After regular usage, the belt will stretch out, lessening the tension on the brush roll. Lesser tension diminishes the brush rolls turn rate and speed. If the belt feels loose then it certainly is effecting your vacuums suction as well as your brush roll not moving at all.

How do I remove the brush cover on my shark professional rotator

Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial.

First, make sure to switch off your vacuum and is unplug from the power. Lay down the vacuum horizontally on the floor to access the brush roller unit. Using the appropriate screwdriver, flathead or philips (which will depend on the model of your vacuum), unscrew that holds the roller cover in place. When you lift the cover of the roller up and if it doesn't lift easily, don't force it because it probably means that you have missed one of the retaining screws. After you removed the cover, you will be able to see the roller assembly and the belt that drives it.

The brush roller has stopped spinning and all the hair has been removed, how do I fix it?

Hey this is Jim with Crucial Vacuum,

If there's no noticeable debris on the brush roll try manually rotating it to help unearth any hidden clogs behind it. Take note of the condition of the bristles while you're doing this. If they look worn down, or loose then its time to replace your brush roll.

Check your vacuums belt as well. Overtime your belt will stretch and loose resistance. This could lead to the brush roll no longer turning. Be sure your belt is on nice and tight to ensure optimal performance. Your belt should be changed every 3 to 6 months depending on usage.
