I'm fitting a fuser kit for this printer. The cleaner pinch rollers have a paper cover. Does this need to be removed?

Error 76 is fuser error, you need to change the fuser but first just in case try to reset settings to factory defaults.

Unplug the printer and allow it to cool.  Then gently wipe off the surface of the photo-sensitive drum with a cotton swab.  If this doesn't work you may need to replace the drum.

Try doing the following prior to messing around with the fuser itself:

My oki c3400n continual paper jam's at the fuser. Paper comes out of the printer about 2 inches then jam's. I clear it and it happens again. Don't see any contamination on the fuser roller.

There are paper path cleaner sheets that you can get at supply stores or on line. They are sticky on both sides. They pick up paper dust from the rollers as it passes through the printer.

Removal of paper stuck in a dell 3115 fuser?

It's best to remove the fuser to get access to it. This video will show you how to remove it, and which levers to move to release tension in the pinch roller to clear the jam http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UjyggtF8d1k After you remove the jam make sure to do a close inspection on the internal roller (use a flashlight). You're looking for any scratches or "dents" in the colored roller (sometimes a deep red/brown color sometimes blue) if there are scratches you are probably going to have to replace the fuser. The imperfections on the fuser roller will show up on your printed pages. If you do need a new fuser you can find them for $160, or the entire rebuild maintenance kit for $375 http://www.fastprinters.com/productdetails.asp?PRODUCT_ID=DELL-UG190

Paper gets stuck, comes out only partially and crumbled

It is a hardware problem. So you can check it from service center.

HP2420 Manual

Are you sure it's not the transfer roller that you want to replace?? this is the roller which sits directly under the toner cartridge, the fuser sits more towards the rear of the printer. I'll list instructions for removing both. Hope this helps

To remove the transfer roller -
1. Release the left end of the transfer roller by using needle-nose pliers to pinch two tabs at
the left end of the transfer roller.
2. Use the needle-nose pliers in the same manner to release the other end.
3. Lift the transfer roller out of the printer.
The left end of the transfer roller has a spring attached. At the right end of the roller, the
spring is attached to the printer rather than to the roller. As a result, the spring at the right
end remains in the printer.

To remove the fuser -
1. Remove the back cover and the I/O cover.
2. Remove the fuser-cable cover by releasing one tab on the cover, and then
rotating the back of the cover toward the center of the printer.
3. Remove the duplexer inlet guide by releasing two tabs on the guide, and then
sliding the guide toward the back of the printer.
Reinstallation tip
Make sure that both tabs snap back into place when reinstalling the duplexer inlet guide.
4. Disconnect two cables at the left, inside, of the printer.
5. Disconnect the fuser cable at the right side of the printer.
6. Remove four screws securing the fuser.
7. Tilt the fuser slightly toward the back of the printer, and then slide the fuser out of the
back of the printer.

To remove the back cover -
1. Open the face-up delivery door all the way, and then press the door down to disengage
two door-stops.
2. Remove two screws
3. Close the face-up delivery door, and then tip the printer so that it rests on its front.
4. Open the "legal-size" cover, and then disengage one tab.
5. Lift the bottom of the cover first, and then lift the cover away from the printer.
6. Tip the printer back so that it rests on its feet.
To remove the io cover (looking at the printer from the rear, this is the small cover on the left side) -
1. Rotate the I/O cover to clear tabs at the right side of the cover.
2. Lift the cover off of the printer.

HP LASERJET 4 PAPER JAM 13

Rollers do not turn on!
Rollers are driven by a motor.
How is the printer telling you this information? (does the PC give an error, or the printer flash lights)

Does the paper make it out of the machine?

Is this "Rollers in the Back" the Fuser Unit?

is The Fuser unit is going bad,
if you open the back top cover, where it gets real hot, where the paper exit's, you should see two rollers, one orange, one either brown or black.. if that orange roller is damaged, has crease's, or covered with black toner, if the paper jams here alott, you probably need a new fuser unit. there is a pm kit available which includes the fuser and rollers, transfer, etc, which this site might have

Printer is putting a crease in the middle of the paper

You need to have the fuser replaced, it comes out easy on these back cover just pulls off, and there is two tabs or long silver screws to undo fuser, remove it anf you will see that upper roller is worn, buy a maintence kit for this model which includes fuser and fit it yourself easy done instructions are included with kit.
