My Panasonic TH-50PC77U stopped working, no picture or sound, but powers on, I can access the Menu and make changes. 2 weeks ago the picture and sound slowly started to get distorted, while flipping channels sometimes the screen from previous channel would freeze on the next channel. Now, I have no picture or sound. I tried reset from the menu options, but didn't work. I am looking for a company, where I could take out the circuit boards and ship it to them for diagnosis and repairs. Would appreciate any help in diagnosing which circuit board is defective and causing the problem.

Restore and update the EEPROM data using a special EEPROM data copy jig. Part# TNPX25JIG. An instruction sheet is supplied with the EEPROM jig.

Yes the control board would definitely be the offender here. But a word of caution. Oftenj when this board goes 2 other boards are also compromised and not always obvious at the time people think they can just swap the board out.
It went for a reason, not just old age. So it is better and cheaper in the long run to get a professional to check it out.
Also from a safety aspect, this is the High Tension area of the TV. Also be aware that radiation of the X type is in abundance at the rear of the tube. The TV must be grounded when opening ( but my advice is dont!) Let the professional do it
