I have done the cleaning cycle with bleach several times and the cycle completes before 60 mins (but should take around 60 mins). I've continued to wash clothes, and they're clean, so it still seems to work. The smell is worse when I stick my head inside of the basket. I've left the lid open to see if it airs out, which just makes the laundry room smell.
SOURCE: Bad Smell
this is caused by a build up of old detergent and limescale.there are some industrial strength descalers around.wpro descaler is one.add the sachet to the drum with no wash load.pour in a kettle of hot water(not boiling)and leave for thirty minutes.then put washing machine on a 60 degree cycle and allow to run right through.you will need to repeat approximately every three months

HI thanks for your question. My solution is 1 cup of vinegar, per wash load. In time, will solve your problem.thanks the appliance doc. please rate my answer. thanks.
SOURCE: laundry stinks
I find that the dryer does not dry the clothes enough. The washer can take a lot of laundry at one time but the dryer is not able to handle the load. The stink usually comes from a bit of moisture left in the the clothes, especially the towels. Break down your dryer loads or dry them on a timed cycle for a longer time.

Hi
It seems that it needs cleaning... you can run your washer with nothing inside it at
its hottest temperature setting with 2 cup of vinegar inside the unit. After
this clean the drain pump assembly completely, also clean the
drain hose and drain pump filter, the spots should disappear after doing all
this. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.
