First try viewing regular programming and see if you have audio on both channels. If you do not then go to the user menu and make sure that the chim function is turned "on". Then turn off the tv and listen for the down chime coming from both speakers. If you only hear the chime from one speaker then the Aidio circuits are bad on the Main bd and needs to be replaced.

Have hooked up system according to manual (I think) using HDMI, to Samsung plasma set. Also have audio cable hooked up (from subwoofer to tv). Get absolutely no sound through system. I imagine I have...

Look on the back of your TV for an HDMI port that has "ARC" on it, connect that to the HDMI Out on the subwoofer. Make sure that your HDMI cable supports ARC. That is the only connection you should need to the subwoofer, remove everything else. Other option is an optical cable between the TV and the Subwoofer.

I just discovered this after fooling around with it for the past couple of days!

I have a Samsung LN55B650, and cannot use the remote to change channels, hav eto use cable remote. I change to TV mode, and program in channels, but that option is not available once I switch to HDMI2,...

OK the cable box remote is the only one that can change channels in this case. because you are using the tuner in the cable box not the TV.
all you need the TV remote for is to turn the TV on and off and turn the sound up and down. if you used the cable input on the TV then the tv remote would be used to change the channels.

No hd picture

This is a known fault on this panel and the samsung.
replacing the separate hd tuning block that connects to the main board will fix this problem.

I have a black screen. Cable company says I have

This is a common problem with Cable companies when they update their firmware. This makes the two incompatible. You can try going onto www.samsung.com and look for firmware updates for your model. Follow the instructions provided. If this does not work then you have a bad cable box. Cables companies are notorious for blaming the tv. Don't let them fool you. Stand your ground and insist on them correcting the problem.

Best way to connect new system

After trying several ways, we decided the best picture was to run the blue ray (out) directly to the TV (in) with an HDMI and another HDMI from the sat. box(out) to TV(in), then optical audio from TV (out) to receiver (in). This way you don't have to change channels on the reciever when switching from TV to DVD. Remember that HDMI is one cable that supports audio and video. If you are using all Samsung products and want to use one remote, using the Anynet feature, I think it has to be connected with an HDMI. I'm going to try connecting an HDMI too from the reciever to the TV to see if this feature will work. It does with the Blue Ray.

Samsung lcd ln46a550pf3 no sound from hdtv reciever

ok your tv does not come with the very best sound, you have to get a receiver 7.1 or you can use the optical wire , that's if the system you are using has that option.

Cant get sound from speakers

That is because you didn't have the audio input connection right.
1. HDMI cable going from the Samsung tx72 output to Your Samsung TV HDMI input 2.
2. Non HD directv box Left and right audio output should be connected directly to the Samsung DVD receiver under Satellite input.Select"Satellite"for the sound from your Samsung tx72.You are good to go!

TV not finding Digital Channels from Cable Box

I don't know where you're located but you may want to double check with Time Warner on the availibilty of an HD box. I have TWC with an HD tier package and have an HDMI out on the box that runs directly into HDMI on this TV. Hope that helps!
