Rev Counter Issues

Hi, I had similar issue with a bike and it turned out to be an over charging fault. Symptoms were everything was ok at a low speed but clocks would fail when engine speed rose. Also get your battery checked as it may also be causing the fault. If left flat for a long period they will charge back to some degree but will never be right.

My 2003 yukon xl is cutting off in the middle of the street, it seems like the battery won't stay charge, the ac only works on defrost and it blows very low. after replacing the brakes the abs lights...

if you think its a alternator not charging battery properly heres the specs. when vehicle is off, at battery there should be at least 12.6 volts, when it is running, at battery there should be at least 14.2-14.7 as for the low fan speed. there is not enough of volts to run it properly. if abs light is on, its most likely a bad speed sensor or a broken or bad wire to the sensor. go to auto-zone and tell them you need to scan for a bad abs sensor, they will do this for free of cost. good-day !

Will not go very fast about half speed

If the battery is charged fully, check the speed knob on the steering console. It is probably turned too low.

Hi, I take it been taken then, do you get a error codes ?

see below

DIAGNOSTIC FLASH CODES
The diagnostic flash codes for your scooter are designed to help you perform basic troubleshooting quickly and
easily. A diagnostic flash code will flash from the status LED in the event one of the conditions listed below
develops.
NOTE: Your scooter will not run unless the flash code condition is resolved and the scooter has been
turned off, then turned back on.
Any electromechanical device occasionally requires some troubleshooting. However, most of the problems that
may arise can usually be solved with a bit of thought and common sense. Many of these problems occur because
the batteries are not fully charged or because the batteries are worn down and can no longer hold a charge.
FLASH CODE CONDITION SOLUTION
! (1) Battery charge is low. Charge batteries as soon as possible.
! ! (2)
Batteries are too low to operate the
scooter.
Charge batteries.
! ! ! (3)
The scooter’s battery voltage is too
high to operate the scooter, or the
charger is still connected to charger
port.
Unplug charger and/or turn key off, then
back on again.
! ! ! ! (4) Current limit time out.
Turn the scooter off for a few minutes,
then turn your scooter back on.
! ! ! ! ! (5)
The manual freewheel lever is in the
(forward) freewheel position.
Remove the key from the key switch,
then push the manual freewheel lever to
the (rear) drive position, and restart your
scooter.
! ! ! ! ! ! (6)
Throttle control lever not at center
position at start up.
Return the throttle control lever to center
position, turn scooter off, then back on.
! ! ! ! ! ! ! (7) Speed pot error.

Battery drained, low engine power light on, engine light on

battery likely not holding strenght, light will stay on as a reminder of the problem, disconnect the negative cable of the battery for 5 minutes and reconnect it, this reset the error codes ( that is what the light is, an error code), good luck

Battery No Charge and Error codes

These are for 4.9L

P016-generator voltage out of range--Voltage is below 10 volts or above 16 volts with engine at 500rpm.

P030-Idle speed control (ISC) out of range--Check ISC for operation

A047-very low A/C refrigerant condition warning--check refrigerant level

I039-speed sensing suspension (SSS) fault--this one requires a lot of testing. Could be anything from bad connection at a strut, to bad ground, to bad strut.

I041-battery voltage too low--at 800 rpm, voltage is less than 10.6 volts

I052-keep alive memory error--means IPC lost voltage, and reset. Normal if battery was disconnected, or lost voltage.

These codes are for 4.6L

I039-loss of road sensing suspension (RSS) data--might need to replace rss module

P016-generator voltage out of range--same as above.
