Where is the fuse for cruise control?

Inspection and Verification
NOTE: If any concerns are noted with the speedometer, stoplamps, or horn, address those concerns by referring to the appropriate sections before continuing speed control diagnosis.
  1. Verify the customer concern by operating the speed control system.
  1. NOTE: Any aftermarket modifications, including but not limited to those listed below, may cause the speed control to not operate correctly:
    • Any wiring or lamp modifications affecting the brake lamp operation
    • LED brake lamps
    • Non-factory installed trailer wiring
    • Radios (speed sensitive, auto mute)
    • Remote starters and alarms
    • Lighting and electrical accessory modifications
Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical or electrical damage:
    • Visually inspect the speed control actuator and accelerator controls.
    • Visually inspect the speed control cable without removing it and ensure smooth cable operation. Inspect the speed control cable connection to the throttle body.
    • Visually inspect the accelerator cable without removing it and ensure smooth cable operation. Inspect the accelerator cable connection to the throttle body. Also check for cable interference with the carpet, bulkhead grommet, insulation and instrument panel wiring.
  1. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical and electrical damage.

Visual Inspection Chart Mechanical Electrical
  • Speed control actuator cable
  • Throttle linkage
  • Battery junction box (BJB) fuse(s):
    • 4 (40A)
    • 12 (60A)
  • Smart junction box (SJB) fuses:
    • 14 (15A)
    • 57 (10A)
  • Wiring harness
  • Loose or corroded connections
  • Deactivator switch
  • Brake pedal position (BPP) switch
  • Speed control switches
  • Powertrain control module (PCM)

Where is the turn signal flasher on a 2000 lincoln towncar signature series

Has no flasher !
Lighting Control Module
This vehicle uses a lighting control module (LCM). This eliminates the electronic interference and heat associated with the thermo-electric devices used previously. The LCM:
  • Is a microprocessor based module that controls several vehicle subsystems.
  • Responds to electrical input signals from various switches, sensors, and external modules.
  • Is located on the LH side of the instrument panel.
  • Subsystem functions include:
    • Headlamps with autolamps.
    • Turn signal lamps/hazard flasher lamps.
    • Cornering lamp.
    • Parking lamp.
    • Daytime running lamps (DRL) (Canada only).
    • Courtesy lamps.
    • Demand lamps.
    • Battery saver.
    • Backlighting.
    • Interfaces with the driver door module (DDM) via SCP for illuminated entry
Inspection and Verification
  1. Verify the customer concern by operating the turn signal/cornering/hazard lamps.
  1. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical and electrical damage; refer to the following chart:
Visual Inspection Chart Mechanical Electrical
  • Multi-function switch
  • Blown fuse(s)
  • Damaged wiring harness
  • Loose or corroded connection
  • Turn signal/hazard bulb(s)
  • Lighting control module (LCM)
  1. If the inspection reveals obvious concern(s) that can be readily identified, repair as required.
  1. If the concern remains after the inspection, connect the scan tool to the data link connector (DLC) located beneath the instrument panel and select the vehicle to be tested from the scan tool menu. If the scan tool does not communicate with the vehicle:
    • check that the program card is properly installed.
    • check the connections to the vehicle.
    • check the ignition switch position.
  1. If the scan tool still does not communicate with the vehicle, refer to the scan tool manual.
  1. Perform the DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST. If the scan tool responds with:
    • CKT914, CKT915 or CKT70 = ALL ECUS NO RESP/NOT EQUIP, refer to Section 418-00 .
    • NO RESP/NOT EQUIP for lighting control module (LCM), go to Pinpoint Test A.
    • SYSTEM PASSED, retrieve and record the continuous diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), erase the continuous DTCs and perform self-test diagnostics for the LCM.
  1. If the DTCs retrieved are related to the concern, go to the LCM Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Index to continue diagnostics.
  1. If no DTCs related to the concern are retrieved, proceed to Symptom Chart to continue diagnostics.

I have connected the TMA to my hp scanjet and I have put a slide in it, but when I scan it, all I get is a scan of the whole glass and the slide is black.

When scanning slides and negatives the scanner lid lights up so light passes through the slides and negatives and the image is picked up by the sensor.
If the image of the whole glass is black then most likely the lamp in the lid is faulty.

I keep getting an error message lamp problem cannot initialize. Hap scanjet 3970. no help from hp. Bob Hall

I guess you know that this is a Mechanical problem, it simply means the lamp which scans the document is not working properly. It's the bar like unit emitting very bright light which moves to and fro just below the scanner's glass.

There are three basic possibilities with this error.
  1. The Lamp itself.
  2. The Flex Cable which connects the Lamp with the Board (motherbaord of the printer)
  3. The connectors and the board itself
First, open it apart the check the scanner and remove the Lamp, now reconnect it after cleaning the connectors, contact points and the interfaces with cotton dipped in alcohol or spirit or acetone. Place it properly on it's position and power on the printer, check whether the error is still displaying or not. No positive outcome? Then switch off the machine and disconnect it, check the continuity of the flex cable, if it's alright and you see no continuity problem, then the problem is with the lamp or with the board or connectors, during this situation, you'll need another spare to check the issues so that you can find out the problem.

If there's continuity problem and you find it fault, replacing the cable will fix the problem.

On the other hand for connectors, you need to do it very carefully and look every connector points with great effort if you can see any bent or twisted among them, if you are sure that there's nothing to do with it, the the problem must be from the Board which is not as easy as we think could be repaired. You can replace it, while there a problem, we can't find the spare, and so it will be difficult but you could possibly get the one from a Repairing shop or Servicing Center.

*Warning*: If you know how to do all these things, just go ahead or else, please take it to a Service Center or call a Tech and get it repaired. Without proper knowledge, you may damage it if in case it could be easily fixable.

I wish you Good Luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Scanjet g4050 TMA lamp does not move upand down lid

Sorry to say, there is no solution to this fault. HP are not interested in it (even though I have proof, in a faulty slide copy, that it was there before the warranty ran out), Amazon ignores me. HP offer an exchange scanner which costs more than the original. Complicated story

Is a blurry picture the sign that the lamps need to be realigned?

It is possible that the lenses are out of alignment. You should try to re-align the lenses and see if it resolves the issue. Please post back if doesn't work and I will suggest further diagnostics/repair procedure.

Sai.

I WANT TO KNOW THE MEAN OF ''ERROR 06'' IN HP SCANJET 8270 AND THE POSIBLE SOLUTIONS... THANKS

If LCD displays Error 06 or Error 09 , the TMA might require service
Press SCAN PICTUREc00068011.jpg button once (see Figure 3 above). The TMA lamp should turn on (see Figure 4 above). If pressed a second time, the TMA lamp turns off (if TMA is detected). NOTE: The scanner carriage lamp should be off when the TMA lamp is on and should be on when the TMA lamp is off. The only time the TMA could not be detected is if the accessory cable is not plugged into scanner
