Ham radio fests, Craigs list, local ham club. Maybe a CERT type of group (citizens emergency response team). We have those and they use ham radios. Also try emergency services in your county. You will never get what you paid....Used Ham gear goes cheap.

Found this in a box of stuff after my friend passed away.

You need to be a licensed Ham Radio Operator. The license is issued by the FCC. You can google Ham radio license prep to get all the information you need to get licensed. Once you have the license you will also get your station call letters. Without them you cannot even try to operate the radio.

I have a Teaberry stalker one 40 channel. Is it rare because most of the stalker one's I've seen are 23 channels.

if you are looking for 40 channel CB than i would look under ham radio operators, CB repair shops, if you are looking for another one, you may even look up on www.ebay.com
the ham radio operators would be where i would look and talk to.
i would look for ham radio clubs, they have swap meets all the time, old tv and radio repair shop. i have been in ham radio operations in 20 yrs and i do not know anyone. you may check out the local library., the FCC may be help you find local ham radio operator in your location. they will help you find that old equipment, than on the other side of the coin what are you willing to pay to locate an operate one is and are they willing to part with it.

good luck rod

Ham radio

The best way is to get an after-market antenna that's compatible with the radio from your local ham shop, or online at HRO's website.
