All refrigeration equipment has some sort of temperature control, either a temperature control knob(1,2,3,4 or A,B,C,D settings) or the unit has a pressure control to control the box temperature. The pressure control would be in the bottom of the case with the compressor.

True GDM-10 started making loud noise AFTER door was slammed after getting something inside; checked inside fan was running slow. Noise sound like something stuck in motor.

without knowing age of unit, I suggest replacing the motor. Sounds like the armature is worn the bearings and is moving inside the windings of the motor. I would do that first before moving forward with any other repairs.

True GDM-33 refrigerator icing up around the condenser then defrosts leaking water all over the floor.

It could possibly be an issue with the thermostat not shutting off. I would set it at it's setting to see if it shuts off. If not replace the thermostat. Also check to see if the evaporator fans are running.

1988 true GDM 33 its 100+deg. in my shop. Refrigerator is only cooling to @44 deg. is that about normal for the outside temp?

The unit is probably not designed to work in an ambient temp that high, probably 90-95 would be as hot as the manufacturer was thinking, however the age of this unit probably means the compressor valves are not sealing quite as well as they used to. this can cause a unit to never pull down all the way to proper temp. get as much air circulating to the unit to help draw heat away

True gdm-33 icing up have to disconnect then works okay for acouple of days

2 things to check - Excessive moisture coming inside will cause frosting - Have it serviced and check proper door seals - the next thing to check, for frost free units, is the defrost timer and its components - no defrost cycle = frosting up.

The above will take you to the installation manual for your unit. This is to make sure you have set up the unit to their specs.

There are multiple things that can cause a lack of cooling. Let's cover a few of them.

1: Make sure the condenser coil under the unit is clean. You have to be able to take a flashlight and see light through the coil and fins. Be sure unit is off when cleaning. Use vacuum, compressed air, or a long, stiff bristle brush and go with the fins direction so they do not bend over.

2: The termostat may be set wrong or is not working as designed. Look for the compressor and fan on the condenser to cycle off when temp is met and on when it gets too warm. If unit is running all the time, look for frozen up evap.

3: If evap is frozen up, no air can pass through so no cooling is taking place. Air can not go through a solid block of ice. Clear ice with warm water. Again, make sure unit is off first.

4: Door not sealing or closing all the way. Seal on door should have magnets that help seal them to the door frame.

5: Again, if unit is running all the time, as in #2 above, unit may be low on refrigerant (freon). If you suspect this to be the case, have a qualified tech do the repair. Make sure he locates and repairs the leak. Adding freon without the repair means he will be back to do it a second time. The system is a sealed one and you should not have to continually add freon.

Good Luck and hope this get you going.

True freezer gdm 35f to cold

you just have to change the temperature control. I recommend using a white rodgers part no. 1609-105 set the cut out to about 33 cut in at 38 or 39 you might have to set defrost time to less minutes about 5 or 6 if coils dosent frezze with the setting i gave you. the bulb of the temperature control can be placed on the border dof the difusser.
