The top 4 or 5 inches of the tv looks fine and below that there is a solid black horizontal line that is about 2 inches thick. From the Black line down, the screen is white with a little bit of ghost imaging. I plan on check the voltages at certain points on different boards, but before I start, I was looking for suggestions to see if anyone has seen this problem in any plasma before and can suggest a good starting point. I was thinking either the main board or the 42 x-drive assembly.
Try the scan PCBs that run down the side and the connectors that hook them up to the rest of the system. That would be my first place to start.
Unfortunately I don't have service manuals for non-european models. What is the date of manufacture?
