Replacement Parts for Fitness Exercise Equipment at SPORTSMITH
It is common to see this error as and L5 error, but it is actually an LS error. The following information will define this error and give you the possible solutions to fix this issue.
LS Error with No Belt Movement on Landice Series Treadmills
LS Error on Landice L-Series Treadmills with No Belt Movement
Probable Cause
A LS error on the Landice L-Series treadmills can also look like L5 and this error code means there is a loss of speed signal. If this error occurs with no belt movement, the causes for the LS or L5 error are:A) Faulty upper display board or faulty relay board
B) Improper speed control wiring
C) Improper motor control wiring
D) Worn or faulty motor brushes
E) Faulty pwm/relay combo board or faulty drive motor
Corrective Action
A) Enter Open Loop Speed mode and set treadmill speed to confirm proper line voltage to pwm board and that the green BELTSW light is lit on the relay board. Replace upper display board or relay board if necessary.
B) Inspect speed control wiring and correct wiring if necessary:
C) Inspect motor control wiring, checking wires from motor to A+ and A-. Correct wiring if necessary.
D) Inspect motor brushes verifying brushes slide freely, are at least 3/8" long, are curved and have no burns or cracks. Also check the brush springs and verify that the brush copper wire is not burned or broken. Replace both motor brushes if necessary.
E) Inspect motor turns and is not seized up or has a broken shaft. Replace motor if necessary. Also verify at least 90VDC present from the black (A+) wire and white (A-) wire from the pwm board to the drive motor. If voltage is present, replace pwm/relay combo board. If no voltage present, replace drive motor.

LS Error on Landice L-Series Treadmills with Belt Movement
Probable Cause
A LS error on the Landice L-Series treadmills can also look like L5 and this error code means there is a loss of speed signal. This error can occur with belt movement but speed will not increase. Causes for the LS or L5 error with belt movement are:A) Speed sensor is out of adjustment
B) Speed sensor is damaged or faulty
C) Display cable is damaged or faulty
D) Improper speed control wiring
Corrective Action
A) Speed sensor should sit parallel with the flywheel and gap between speed sensor and flywheel should be within 1/16". Adjust speed sensor if necessary.
B) Inspect speed sensor connector to relay board. Check for pushed pins or loose wires. Repair or replace speed sensor assembly if necessary.
C) Inspect upper harness or display cable connector to relay board. Check for pushed pins or loose wires, giving specific attention to pin 5 (brown) and pin 9 (green). Repair or replace display cable if necessary.
D) Inspect speed control wiring:
Correct speed control wiring if necessary.

Hi,
The L5 message means that there is a problem with the speed setting switches. Some models have one set of speed adjusting stitches on the handlebar and another set on the console. One of them is defective and is causing the problem.
SOURCE: Landice L7 gives me a L5 reading on the screen
Your L7 error looks like L5 , but its really LS which mean lost signal. Unplug unit take motor shroud off then plug unit back in wall outlet. When looking in front unit you will see a Motor control board and there are LED lit up one of them should be an amber light this is you speed sensor which is attached to the top of your motor. Manually rotate the fly wheel and see if that light flickers if it does then your speed sensor is working properly if not replace speed sensor. The next thing to look at is the motor brushes to if they are worn unplug unit you should see slitted caps on both side of motor remove them if they are less than 3/8" they need replacing. That for the most parts should take of your problem. Call Landice @ 1800-526-3423 have the serial# handy their on all the components in the unit
SOURCE: the treadmill starts then after a few seconds it
More likely LS= Loss Signal open the motor shroud on the motor their should be a cylindrical shape sensor (magnetic). Plug in treadmill and on the motor control board their should be a L E D (red or amber) by manually rotating the motor you should see that light flicker if it does sensor is good if not replace sensor. Next thing if sensor is good check motor brushes to see if they are mis-align or worn if worn less than 3/8" in length replace them

If calibration doesn't work replace controller.
SOURCE: Treadmill stops after 7 seconds
you have a broken spinner. Take hte motor cover off and look on the opposite side of the motor. there will be a partof the spinner wheel there. I have yet to find a way to short cirut the connectors nor a replacement wheel.
