Bob, If you have an hd ready tv, and hooked up the Ant. then the next thing you should do is go to your menu and select the tv feature and then scan for channels. This should program the channels for you. Most TV setups are like this. You should have a option for cable or antenna/tv input. select Antenna. You r should be good to go once the channel scan is done.
Yes you can use an indoor antenna. Just make sure it is an HD antenna to get the digital channels clearly. You will have to do a scan to pick up local channels. In the TV menu, it will ask you if you want to scan for "cable" channels or "antenna" channels. You want to choose antenna.
Hi I Just Bought A Dynex 32 Inch HDTV. I Did A Auto Scan And It Didnt Pick Up Any Digital Channels? Am I Suppose To Have An Antenna Or Digital Box? How Do I Get Th Channels To Come In?
I have found most of these indoor antennae to be ineffective and a waste of money, however, I do not know anything about this particular antennae. I to have a Dish DTVpal, which I love! It's ugly and probably won't fit in your kitchen, but the best solution is to make your own "bow-tie" antennae, mount it indoors or on the roof and run a cable to the kitchen. Directions can be found on You-Tube. I live in SE Idaho (Pocatello) and can get 13 channels, most without having to adjust the antennae.
I carried my Westinghouse TV to the basement. Unplugged the antenna from the digital converter box and connected it to my digital TV. I then re-scanned for channels and found channel 9. After carrying the Westinghouse TV back upstairs, I connected the original set-up and tuned to channel 9 which was now showing on the screen as no signal. From that point I moved my VHF dipoles until I had located the correct position for reception. A little labor intensive, but I was fortunate to have another antenna that was receiving channel 9.
When my Menu did not come up, I found it on the AUX channel (one below channel 3). I was able to go through the set up, but found only one digital channel available. Hope this helps!
