Dishwasher Water Temperatures

No matter what detergent you use, the "pills", powder, or gels, they are meant to activate PROPERLY, key word PROPERLY, at a minimum of 120 degrees Fahrenheit in a dishwasher. I recommend ALWAYS using the "high temp wash, boost, etc" on ANY cycle in order to keep the water HOT! Always run the hot water in the sink prior to starting the dishwasher! The unit is tied in to the hot water line under the kitchen sink and requires very little water to fill--by the time the hot water finally reaches the dishwasher, chances are it'll be running on cold or tepid water--the detergent won't dissolve or activate the way it's supposed to. Not only that, in between fills during the cycle, especially in winter, the water will cool down in the pipes too much. Normally, the water heating selection will maintain water temps in the 130-150 degree range! If someone has been sick in the house, turn on the SANI RINSE if your unit has it! This won't stop--but it'll help prevent cross contamination--people getting sick from the dishes--this setting normally kicks the water temp up to 190 degrees during the rinse cycle.

Installing a Miele WS5425 cold water fill only?

if you only want cold water for washing, just select cold wash in the program settings and turn off the hot water tap
so the settings you will be looking at are --like --
tub fill ---low water medium water or high water
water temp cold or hot
rinse hot or cold , wash setting --heavy , delicates , whites , woollens etc
may not be exactly worded like that but you get the idea
when ever you see wash temp or water temp , select-- cold

I believe the water temp switch is bad. It will start filling on warm then stop if I put it on hot it will fill with cold water. I have cut the hot water off to achieve this but when it reaches rinse it...

it sounds to me that the hoses are connected to the machine incorrectly. Typically if the plumber ran the water lines behind washer correctly the hot pipe is on the left and the cold pipe is on the right sometimes thats backward and be determined by touching hoses while filling on warm setting and see which hose feels hot. On the back of washer they where they connect hot goes on the bottom and cold on top

My maytag washer has a water temp. problem I,ve replacrd the water temp switch (pt.# 37001263) 4 pole switch several times but the problem still returns I,m getting hot water insted of a cold water...

You say that you are getting hot water instead of cold on rinse... Does that mean that when you select hot water wash you get cold?
If so, the machine 'thinks' it is giving water that is the wrong temp.
You may be sure that the hoses are the right way round, but if the water temp is opposite to what it should be, there's obviously something amiss!
Try swapping the hoses and see what happens...If the hoses are 'right', it could be that the water inlet valves are 'wrong'. It could be that the 'cold' wires are on the 'hot' inlet valves!! & vice versa
Good luck....Nomess

Cold wash/rinse selected, but only hot water is used

I have a Sears front load washer and I also noticed that on a cold wash/cold rinse cycle the machine was drawing hot water.

Laundry detergents require water to be at a certain temperature to aid in disolve. The machine adds sufficient hot water, regardless of the cycle, until that temp is reached. If I was to use a cold water detergent the machine, because it has no way of knowing which detergent I'm using, will still add hot water until that minimum temp is released. I don't know if there are machines available which include detergent type as an option?

Maytag washer

It sounds like you have the hot and cold water lines to the washer reversed.  Try turning off the tap for the hot water then setting the washer to just cold wash and then  hot washif you get nothing on the cold and cold water when set to hot they are probably reversed.  Typically if the auto-temp control is broken you will only get hot or cold coming out on any setting.

Frigidaire FDB635RBB heat wash/heat rinse

Most DW today take a minimum of 90 minutes. Run the hot water from the sink until it gets hot, then start the DW, this will shorted the first wash cycle. It is not uncommon for the DW to run 2hrs or more based upon the water temperature entering the DW and the soil level of the items in the DW.
