How do I get rid of grid lines on my Asus computer monitor? I have had it less than one year.

6 year old PC today. not that old. pretty new'ish.

what did the VGA port do, unstated, only you can login to windows stated, but what about lines.
when did Pc last run perfectly.
did you drop the PC, or hit the screen?
did you try flex the screen with 2 hands
and see if the LINES change, if yes, bad screen.

Seems (me blind) like a bad LCD (damage or cables)
if mobility is not needed
run external screen for ever.
most times a used VGA monitor for $40 is way way cheaper than fixing any old laptop, for $200 parts and labor.

When the allignment grit is on you just have to press the Menu button. It's 2 buttons right of the Allignment Grit button.

Flat monitors work on a grid method, if one of the grid is failing it creates a horizontal or verical line. its not something you can fix, so send it back.

anything can be repaired if you have the money and are willing to spend it. However it would be better to get a quote and weigh up the pros and cons of replacing it cheaper than the repair A new monitor wilol also have 3 years warranty ( Samsung)

Do you have the monitor plugged into a power strip. If so unplug it and plug it directly into the wall.

Uninstall the video driver from the Computer, restart the Computer then reinstall it. Furthermore, check for any updates for the video drivers.

You may also connect the monitor to any other normally functioning Computer to check if the lines remain there.

If it's so then the monitor requires servicing.

Yes. If you're a techie, you'll need to replace the "Horizontal IC" some circuitry may be corrupted. Otherwise, my answer would be none, there's no way you can get rid of the 5 horizontal lines on the monitor.

Try degaussing the monitor.
