You are much better off just buying the flat free drive tires with the wheel attached for @ 55 each. With that being said, the wheel will separate it takes a lot of elbow grease, a large flat head screwdriver and patience. Be very careful not to tear and/or stretch the tire bead and resist the temptation to spray lubrication of any sort to separate it. Again, call Hoveround or look on ebay and order two with the wheels.... you will be glad you did..

It would seem that the support frame is bent. Remove joystick and support from arm. Straighten support and reassemble.

Chair motors sometimes do not have brake switches. It relies on the gear ratio keeping the chair from moving while not under power. The freewheel lever disconnects the gear box from the motor.

Sue, there are lots of how-to videos out there about this. Just google "How to change bike tube" or tire, or flat. You have to remove the wheel, which is easiest with TWO wrenches - they can be the adjustable "Crescent" wrenches, but don't use pliers. You also have to remove the small screw that holds the fat little L-shaped lever to bike. Use a rag to remove the chain from the cog on the wheel. Then use the little "Tire irons" to remove the tire from the rim and get the old tube out - these come three to a set, the plastic ones are best, and you can get them at K-mart. Also, use some baby powder (talc is better than cornstarch) to make the new tube easier to position correctly in the tire - sprinkle the powder inside the tire when you have if off and put the tube in the tire before you put the tire back on the rim. It helps if you put a little air in the tube to make it a nice sausage first. And make sure you get the valve stem straight and pulled all of the way through the hole in the rim. Be very careful that you don't pinch the tube against the rim when you put the tire back on. And the hardest part might be getting a pump to hold tight onto the valve stem - using compressed air (like at a gas station) is by far the easiest method. Good luck.

Bird If you have help you can tilt the chair to the side of the good tire and place a block under the frame behind the flat tire set it down on the block to lift the flat tire off the ground enough for you to remove the bolt holding the tire on the axle remove the tire assembly and the rim is a split one remove the 4 nuts holing it together and remove the tire and tube to patch the tube then reverse the procedure to get it back together. Put grease or vaseline on the axle before you put the rim back on and then tighten the nut you should be rolling again Hope this helps

You will need tie downs to the power chair. It is a metal piece the fits over the chair post and sits under the seat and had two metal loops to hook on to. The Hoveround field technician will install it for you.You need to order the tie downs from Hoveround, your insurance will most likely NOT cover the cost.

If you are lifting the manual brake levers up but they will not lock into place, there may be an issue with the motors. Check to see if the tires are leaning into or away from the center position, with can indicate a bent frame. If the axle is bent, the brakes will not engage and the motors and/or mounting brackets may have to be replaced.
