My TV lost the picture. Pushing on the indicates no back lighting. The Standby LED was giving a single and intermittent flash but now nothing. All PS voltages are present.

Try following the steps below.
Step 1
Press the power button once. If the TV does not turn on, observe the LED indicator, usually located on the TV's lower front panel. If the LED indicator turned off after you pressed the power button once, it is in standby mode. Press the power button once again to exit standby and turn on the TV.

Step 2
Observe the Standby light if the remote control will not work. If the Standby light stays on, the television is in Standby mode. Press the power button on the television, then try to use the remote.

Step 3
Turn the Energy Saving Switch off, then press the power button. The Energy Saving Switch is located on the rear or side panel on most Sony model TVs. Refer to your TV user manual for the exact location of the switch.

If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.

Do the ballast first. That should get the picture back. The main board controls everything else.

The Standby/Power light of the TV blinks when there is any internal malfunction in the TV. The self-diagnostic function of the TV will cause the STANDBY light to blink or flash when the television detects an issue. The number of times the STANDBY light flashes corresponds to a specific issue.

Few examples are given below; some of the issues may be resolved without the need for service.
1 blink / 2 blinks / 5 blinks: - This indicates that there may be a power-related problem with your set.
3 blinks: - This indicates that there may be a power-related problem with your set. The set will need to be serviced to allow a technician to determine the specific issue that needs to be repaired. If the power light flashes three times in sequence in a Lamp TV, the lamp cover is not securely attached. Reattach the lamp cover to resolve this issue.
4 blinks: - This indicates that there may be a back light or lamp power problem.
6 blinks: - This indicates that there is some kind of audio problem with your set.
7 blinks: - This indicates that there is a temperature problem with your set. If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the television.

If the issue continues to occur, service may be required.

The standby light should be flashing in a repeated count with a short pause between the counts. If you could post that count here, it will give us an indication of the circuit in which a problem was found and allow us to provide solutions.

There is some electronic circuit problem with your TV. Best if you want to repair it you find a reputable TV repair shop. Sorry.

intermittent problems can usuall be liked to bad solder connections. And sony typically has some that will develop after a few years in the power supply. so check for bad sodler connections throught the main board & give a close look to the power supply & check you work after to make sure you have no shorted pins. good luck.
