How do i turn off the sound on a Hamilton Beach HB-P90D23AP-T3B microwave

To mute your microwave, start by checking the control panel. Look closely. The mute function may be labeled as a secondary function of one of the standard buttons. Check these things first:
  • Look for a Sound button. Seriously. It may have been there all along, begging you to press it.
  • Press and hold either 1 or 0. Sometimes manufacturers give these keys hidden, secondary functions.
  • Press and hold the Stop or Cancel button. Like 1 or 0, this key might have a hidden function when held.
Often, pressing and holding 1, 0, Stop or Cancel will either result in turning off the beeping sounds or activating a child lock feature. (Child lock doesn't actually lock the door, but instead locks the control panel so no buttons can be pressed until the lock is removed by holding the button for around three seconds again.)
If none of these work, it's probably best to consult the manual. Even if you don't have a Sound button, there is no Mute function denoted as a secondary function or holding a button doesn't do anything, there is still a chance a mute function exists. It could be a button combination or, like on some microwaves, be buried in a submenu that's not at all obvious how to activate.

My Avanti microwave keeps beeping nonstop.

Hi.

If you've tossed the owner's manual to your microwave, check the manufacturer's website. They will often provide a digital version of the manual as a PDF for more recent models. For an older model, you may need to do some digging, but a great start is to just do a Google search for "[microwave brand and model number] manual."
Once you have the PDF version of the manual, press Ctrl + F on Windows or Command + F on Mac to search the PDF for "mute," "sound" or "beep."

Good luck.

I pushed a button and lost all sound, what should i do? is there a reset button to get going again?

The "MUTE" function on your remote control has been activated. To deactivate the "MUTE" function, simply press the "MUTE" button on your remote control. (Make sure the volume control is turned down to avoid damage to your system.) If you misplace or lose your remote control, you will have to purchase a new remote control unit, as there is no duplicate function on the front panel of your stereo. Unplugging the stereo will not deactivate the muting circuit, as the microprocessor "remembers" if the muting circuit was active prior to being turned off or unplugged. If you need to purchase a remote control, you may order one directly from our parts office.

My volume and mute button has stopped working all other buttons are functioning properly

Press the mute button and then turn up the volume button. If no sound still then press the mute button again. If we are talking about a Remote, then change the batteries.

Sound problem

Check all the usual suspects. Windows Volume, speakers volume. Make sure its not muted in the hardware. There is a key function that can mute or change the volume.

Its the light blue function key at the bottome left ( usually). You hold that down and press the light blue volume button ( usually at the top left or right keys.

Did it work one day and just stop?

Also go into the sound settings and make sure the sound device for the laptop is selected.

If none of these things work, you may have a bad sound card on the mother board which requires a new Mainboard.

I would have someone who knows about computers give it a once over. find someone you know who can just give it a quick once over before spending any money.

Alot of times the Key function volume controls will get turned off but still shows that its on in windows. Depending on the laptop

Yamaha RX-V793 flashing light on volume control and no volume

Per Yamaha support page: The volume light on my Yamaha AV receiver is flashing, what does this mean ? The "MUTE" function on your remote control has been activated. The reason that you can still hear a very low sound is that the muting circuit within your stereo is not a full mute, but rather a -20dB mute. You may reach them by dialing (714) 522-9888 from 8 am to 3 p.m. Pacific Time, Monday through Friday. If you have any other questions, please contact our customer service department by dialing (800) 292-2982 Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
