How heavy is the line that is attached to the anchor - you need to add that weight to the amount being lifted as well. Some general things to consider: Are you providing the correct voltage and current? Is the wire supplying the motor large enough - or is it getting hot? Check & clean as needed ALL connections at terminals, relays, etc for corrosion and tightness. Make sure the unit has been serviced and lubricated as required.

Minn Kota DeckHand 18 won't run

Did you check the breaker and fuse. The strain of a rope foul would trip the breaker.

Mar 9, 2021 - I just purchased 2 Minn Kota DeckHand 40 anchor winches. They have built in circuit breakers, but should I also run fuses to them as well?

You would need to strip it and test the motor. You can still get parts by the look of it.

Minn Kota deckhand DH 25 lock up when up at top out of the water.

Does the nylon rope look bunched up inside the housing. My guess is bad spooling. Let all the link out and control it back in so that it is nice and even.

Anchor will not go down but will go up

I have two deckhand anchor units. I ve tested both on battery, and both went up. I replaced switches, and I get nothing, but I heard a light click coming from unit. Is the motor bad?

I HAVE A MINN KOTA DECKHAND 35 THAT WONT WIND UP. IS THERE A GEAR I CAN REPLACE?

Solution- Take the cover off the Deckhand 35 by Minn Kota. Inside is a motor drive. Remove the cover plate held in place with 4 screws. inside are nylon gears, most likely broken. The gears can be replaced with a Minn-Kota Deckhand Gear Repair Kit.
I found mine on the web at Northland Marine.com it's about $24.00 for the kit, plus shipping.
Good Luck!
