SOURCE: Electric Oven Won't Heat

Rob, sounds like it was just installed. You need 240V on this unit. On the terminal block in back where the power hooks up, it should read 240V across the two outer terminals and 120V from each end to center terminal. Im ruling out the thermal cut out because you never used it. I would start with the power source first. The display sounds like it's getting the 120V it needs to funtion, but I don't think your making the loop for the 240V needed for the bake and broil. Catriver.

If you used a meter for the test it could well be faulty , best to test it under load , I use a battery powered trouble light , safer than mains power .

Whirlpool gas oven is taking three times as long to cook something, what is wrong?

have you checked with an oven type thermometer for 350 degrees against the setting of 350 degrees,if its off very far then its the oven temp sensor in the upper left middle or right rear wall of the oven thats bad it looks like a small pencil type rod 2" to*' long it merely unplugs off the oven s control panel in the rear, you can test its resistance also to get an idea if it is your culprit, otherwise the oven element could have a hot spot in it and not letting all the current thru to properly heat the element,it will be dis-colored in that area

Not heating

Hello William - Sounds like the element or the control board to the element is not communicating correctly. I would have a professional diagnose the element first. You may only need to replace it. Otherwise it could be the control board not allowing the element to heat up properly, a faulty mechanical thermostat or an oven sensor.

Hotpoint oven won't heat above 250 degrees broiler works fine as well as the stove top

either its the oven sensor rod located at the top of the ovens cavity,or your bake element could be getting a hot spot which is when it gets a discolored spot in the element and can no longer pass sufficient current to heat the oven past 250 degrees

Top oven will not heat up

Had a similar problem. The overheat sensor had failed to the open position and the oven control would light up and you could set the temp, but it would drop to 100 degrees and then go blank.

Whirlpool built-in single oven AKZ451/IX/01

If this is an older oven, check to see if it has a control knob or switch labeled "manual and "hold". Make sure it's set for manual. The hold setting maintains temp at about 140 degrees.
If not the case, is this gas or electric?
