There should be a glass globe that covers bulb. It either screws out or is held in with a stiff hinged wire. Remove globe and then bulb. Sometimes bulb will break trying to get it out. Be sure to unplug unit when trying to get a broken bulb out.
In most ovens, move the metal bracket to one side. the glass dome cover should fall out. Unscrew the old bulb. Screw in the new bulb. Place the glass dome cover back over the bulb. Move the metal bracket to hold on the glass dome cover. Easy job to do.
Hard to give you exact location with brand or model number but here is what you look for. Open the oven door and with a flashlight look over the top and back wall of the inside liner. The light bulb is usually located behind a clear glass round cover. The cover may have a wire retainer across the middle of it to hold the glass. If it does, just flip or push the wire to the side and the glass cover will come loose. Unscrew bulb to replace. If no wire retainer, then there could be a metal plate with screws holding the glass in place. last type would be that the glass itself unscrews to get to the bulb.
Oven Lighting Warning: Risk of electric shock! Prior to changing the oven light bulb:
- Switch off the oven!
- Disconnect from the electricity supply.
Place a cloth on the oven floor to protect the oven light and glass cover. Changing the oven light bulb/cleaning the glass cover 1.Remove the glass cover by turning it anti-clockwise and then clean it.
2.If necessary: replace with 25 watt, 230 V, 300 °C heat-resistant oven lighting.
3.Refit the glass cover.
Any good electrical retailer should have oven lamps. They need to be "oven lamps" because of the heat. You may wish to take one out to check its size and rating before you buy. All four lamps in the oven are the same. To get them out, you will need to remove the glass cover. To do this you should see a little lip on the edge of the cover facing you from the front of the oven. Insert a blunt screwdriver or something similar and twist it, that should be all the force that is required. If there is oven grease around the cover it may take a little more effort. There are cut outs on the glass to allow for the bulb. ALSO, don't attempt to do it if the oven has been used because the covers get very hot. When the oven is cold, briefly turn the switch to the first position to put the lights on, without the heating fan. Have a look to see what to do and you should be OK.
hi
You may need to remove the glass cover by turning it anti-clockwise. On some models access to the bulb is from outside so the oven has to be slid out of it's housing and an access plate removed.
chek this following steps..
Step 1
Make sure the bulb is actually burned out. Confirm the oven is plugged in and that a circuit breaker is not tripped.
Step 2
Look for the manual to determine what size bulb is required. Most use a 40 watt appliance bulb. If you can not find the manual, then buy a bulb to replace it after you take out the old one.
Step 3
Confirm that the oven is not on. Allow it to cool to room temperature if it has recently been used.
Step 4
Open the door and use a flashlight to light the area where the bulb is located. Do not put weight on the door itself, but go in at an angle or sideways.
Step 5
Find the shield or cover over the bulb, gently pull or twist it off. Some glass covers are surrounded by a wire clip or a ring that is screwed in to the back.
Step 6
Gently remove either the wire clip or ring. Since the cover is most likely glass, be cautious. Unscrew the entire glass cover similar to a jar lid in older versions of ovens. Then repeat process if there is more than one bulb.
i have a ge profile double oven and the glass cover on the top convection oven is held in place by grooves that latch onto the glass dome cover. Just turn the dome so that the handles on the glass dome cover are exposed. I used a flashlight and a screwdriver to push the dome to one side.
Hopefully someone answered your question by now. If not, the glass bulb cover sticks sometimes, but it does turn counterclockwise. Be firm with it, let it know who's boss. Once you've removed it, you can replace the 40 watt appliance bulb. (The manual suggests you unplug the range or disconnect power for your safety). Good luck.
Pry back the bulb glass cover wire spring and remove glass cover. Use heavy rubber gloves or a plastic bottle opener(piece of serrated soft plastic/rubber) and unscrew counterclockwise.
