Hi Linda

You must be old enough to remember the old way of setting up screens. That was when they were CRT's (Cathode Ray Tube).
The large picture tube used to use Deflection Coils on the neck of the picture tube (magnetic coils) therefore requiring adjustments to the alignment of the screen (by adjusting magnetic signal from coils) Hard to Explain any further.....
Cathode ray tube

So.... Modern devices that use LCD or LED or Plasma Displays.
These are all modern Digital devices that do not have any adjustments to be made. Basically it is all coming directly from the Video Memory to the pixels in the screen.
All computer controlled......Ones & Zeroe's 1 - 0

So..... where is the problem?
Probably a loose or broken cable between the video memory and the display. Usually carried over a thin flexible flat copper connector which goes between the gap between the computer and the moveable screen.
When you open your laptop screen & close it... it can eventually crack this cable & therefore some screen dots (pixels) are missing.

To determine location of break. Carefully watch the monitor LCD screen as you open and close to see if it glitches or fixes the problem. Probably someone will have to replace this or some other cable inside.

Hope this Helps
Please give me a tick? or "Thanks" if this enlightens you!
Cheers
.......Trevor

That sounds like you require a new/replacement screen.
Check your date of purchase with a warranty repair in mind.
Do it quickly as it may still be covered.

The top of the screen is slanted while the sides of screen and bottom are even, causing the right hand side of screen to appear smaller than the left. Anyway to fix this?

Sounds like a "keystone" problem. Your projector needs to be oriented to the screen in an exact manner. Manufacturers provide "keystone" correct to adjust for mis-alignment. If proper orientation is impossible, use the keystone correction of the unit to adjust your edges.

did you check the six 3.5 pico fuses that are next to the ICs? They will often be open ( blown) when the ICs fail. Also check the two 5 amp IC protectors on the G board as those protect the two ICs so its possible they have blown also a 5 amp pico can be substituted for the two IC protectors.

JVC av-56pw30 Picture Adjustment

Sounds like you have a convergence problem and the set will require repair. This repair will run somewhere around $400 if you have a good company complete the repair for you.

If you are interested in doing this repair yourself you will need to be able to use a meter and solder VERY well.

If you have more questions please email me.

Thank you,

KP-51HW40 Sony 51" Fades to blue screen

The service manual on page 8 shows how to adjust the Red/Blue/Green screen voltages. To get to the adjustment board, take the front speaker grill off (two screws at the bottom left and right) and set it aside. No need to disconnect any wires. Then remove the plywood board with 4 screws that exposes the screen/focus adjustments. The top 3 adjustments are for focus, and you need not mess with these. The bottom 3 adjustments are for Red/Blue/Green screen voltage rough adjustments. My screen showed red lines, so I had to turn the bottom right adjustment with a philips head screwdriver just slightly until the red gun retrace lines where no longer visible.

Picture slants right to left

Hope you have fixed this problem by now, if that tv is unserviced, I mean if nobody has ever opened it, it could be a problem with the positioning of your tv, just tilt the tv in different positions and find out the position in which it will show the right fit. If it is serviced, especially yoke is changed, this is rare, it could be because the position of yoke is not aligned properly.
