How do I program the box with out remote - RCA Dta800b1 Digital-to-analog Converter Box

Unfortunately, the RCA RCU404 was programmed in 2003 before the digital-to-analog converter boxes were released. It doesn't have a code for any brand converter box. The Apex converter boxes were listed at Amazon in 2004. See http://www.rcaaudiovideo.com/remote-code-finder/?sku=RCU404&productType=Digital+TV+Converter+Box to search for all available device codes. Change the Product Type via the drop-down menu for other device codes.

Most universal remotes code lists are limited to devices that hit the market 6 months before the remote was programmed and older devices. I wish that I had better news for you. A universal remote that was programmed later (2005 at the earliest) would be more likely to support the converter box and let you consolidate all of your remotes.

There is no set-up code to AT&T Uverse box, with RCA remote control. You have to select an other remote control for this box.

If the tv remote is the original TV remote, it won't control the converter box (if this is an digital-to-analog converter). If it is another remote, then maybe. It depends on the remote and when it was programmed.

Most remotes are limited to codes for devices released at least 6 months before the remote was programmed. Thus is your TV remote was programmed in late 2006, then it may have the right code. Some universal remotes support the converter boxes; others don't. If you provide additional information on the remote, I may be able to give you more specific details for your situation.

The digital to analog converters did not exist when the TV was built and the remote programmed. Thus you will have more luck programming the converter box's remote to control the TV. (At least with my converter box, the included remote could only turn on and off the TV. It would only change channels on the converter.)

Most universal remotes only have codes for devices released 6 months or more before the TV was programmed. So a new universal remote will probably control both the TV and the converter box. (Program the converter box using a code for LG or Zenith set top boxes if Insignia isn't listed. LG makes Insignia video products for Best Buy.) The remotes that are programmable by a USB connection to a computer are the fastest to set up.

Do you know what model MOXI box you have? The new remotes weren't programmed to the MOXI 3012 box. If you have the Moxi MP12, BMC9012, BMC 9012F, BMC 9022 you will need to program the remote to the box.

1. Turn on the Moxi STB.
2. Press and hold the MOXI and OK buttons on the remote until the red LED at the top of the remote blinks twice.
3. After the red LED has blinked twice, release both buttons.
4. Using the numeric buttons on the remote, slowly enter 0, 0, 4. The correct entry of this code will cause the red LED to blink twice.
5. The remote is now programmed to operate the Moxi STB listed above. Go to “Programming the TV”.

The remote that came with your DTV Converter Box may not control some TV brands.
Be sure to follow the remote control programming instructions below, or see your Install Guide for specific brand programming codes.
If you cannot control your TV with this remote, we recommend you use the remote control that came with your TV separately,
or buy a universal remote that can control the TV as well as your converter box. (Refer to the previous question.)
