I've had this issue. It was the packaging material on a pack of food. I found it easily by removing the last things I put in.

New Frigidaire fridge bottom freezer, model #FRFS282LAP1 making burned rubber smell sometimes.

The compressor or other electrical components have quit working. Or there has been ice that has accumulated over the coils. Or the wiring is faulty or the plugs could be loose. The cord could be frayed. You will need to have the while model to be either repaired or replaced.

Check to see if the sensor in the freezer compartment is encased in ice. If so, do a complete defrost and restart the unit. Another possibility is a bad thermostat and/or sensor.

I have a Dometic fridge model number RM2612 in a camper that i just purchased used and the fridge isn't cooling. The freezer section seems to be okay. The metal plate in the freezer gets cold but

Make sure it is level, has proper airflow out through top vent. Also check baffle, or stack where flame sits under and blow it out good with compressed air to make sure it's clean. If you smell a hint or strong smell of ammonia, shut it off, it has a leak in cooling unit. If all ok in that area, shut it off, disconnect and plug propane line, disconnect power and remove the fridge. Turn the fridge upside down for a day or 2, then re-install and let it sit 24 hrs before turning it back on. Quite often that will take care of any blockage in flow of cooling liquid, and get things back to normal if cooling unit is still good.

Whirlpool GS6SHAXLB03 FRIDGE.. Freezer and fridge not getting cold. i can feel air flowing but ..Prior to this, I smelled something burning; like rubber..

The problem is the overload/relay , burnt on the compressor . Pull the refrig out from the wall , and unplug . Remove the rear panel , and on the compressor , you will see 2 wires going to the side . These 2 wires connect to the overload/relay . The part number is 8201786 . This part just pries off , with a screwdriver , and just presses back on .

Clicking noise and fridge/freezer not cold

Hello, This problem is going to be as you suspected the relay. This part is fairly cheap around $30 if you are going to do the fix yourself. The relay is mounted to the side of the compressor. I would change both the overload and relay because of the burning smell you had. If you have an appliance tech in to look at it I would say it's going to cost some where in the region of $150-$200. If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to comment again. Good Luck!!! Mike

Freezer not blowing air - bad smell in fridge

Your automatic defroster coil is open and needs to be replaced along with the fan in the freezer that blows the cold air around and also blows air into refrigerator.

Bad smell down below is food rotting in that section because it is not cold enough.

Burning Rubber smell coming from fridge

try taking the bottom panel off and vacuming all the dust on the coils. The dust may be heating up and burning. The coils are usually at the bottom of the fridge. Check to see if the fan is running also.
