You need to change the filter on the bottom of the refrigerator, take off the outside cover on bottom of fridge and on the left hand side right above the tray that keeps filling up there is a round filter that unscrews. unscrew it and replace the filter. You can get the filters at Lowes or Home Depot for about 20 bucks, hope this helps.

How do I trouble shoot an ice maker on a whirlpool frig, model GI6FARXXY07. The water dispenser is working, but the tray is not filling.

On the back section inside the cardboard cover there is a dual solenoid operated valve that when energized by buttons on the front of the refrigerator either dispense water, (which appears to work by your descrition) and the other opens to fill ice maker tray. It sounds like the ice tray side is not enerzing or does not work. If you take your model number and go to Searspartsdirect.com you can order the replacement valve and get the system back in operation.
Before I trash a potentially good working dual valve, make sure someone has not turned the on/off switch on the ice maker and/or the bin full bail (if it has one) is in down position. The bin full bail looks shiny metallic and rotates down to the automatic position. When a batch of ice harvests, they puch up against this bail and will halt production when the bin gets full. Once lowered because of ice usages, the bail lowers again to start another batch of ice.
Hope this helps

GE side by side, GSS22UFMWW, water dispensor does not work, when I try it water leaks from the bottom of the frig. I can hear it pumping.

Turns out there is actually a small drain hole on the bottom of the freezer where condensation and such goes. Take out your bottom drawer/shelf and look in the back of the freezer.

Pulled out the bottom white tray that is under the wire shelving and at the back of the freezer is a small hole. Pour in a cap full of bleach and then 1 cup of boiling water. There can be condensation builds up and clogs the hole.

I think my Whirlpool French door (freezer on bottom) is leaking underneath. I have checked the water lines on the outside and looked underneath and nothing. When I moved the fridge there was a film of...

check to make sure that the condensation pan is in its correct position,, somtimes when the unit is moved up steps it causes the pan to sit in there cocked or unlevel and will drain out excessively. or it may be a crack on the fill valve solinod where the water line connects to the fridge.. there will be a blue plasitc cover right where the water line connects to the frig and somtimes they crack and will only leak when the ice maker calls for water... pull out the frig and empty the ice tray and when you here it start to fill up the icemaker check around that solinoed be sure to use a bright flash light because sometimes the leak will be a little stream of water that is really hard to see sometimes you can only feel it with your fingers...I hope this helps......

Water is collecting in bottom of fridge section and then leaking out

1st check to see if there is a plugged drain hole somewhere then look under/behind frig for a small pan filled with water--this is an evaporator tray and should be emptied if full. if you have hole & empty tray--make sure tube that connects/drains between them is not plugged.

Ice maker flooded top freezer compartment

It may be just the water control valve on back of refrigerator. Put tap water in ice maker and lower lever for on. After ice is made, does it drop to tray? At this time when empty is the time the control valve is asked for water. The problem could be in valve on back or the inside ice maker itself. If you can try a few test with me I will help you locate the problem. Let me know what you find as I go through this with you. Sea Breeze

Water dripping from somewhere inside the refrigerator

I believe the problem is with the drain line when the frig goes into defrost mode

see if you can trace the drain line that oes into the evaporator pan at the bottom of the frig

facing the frig remove the bottom panel that goes across the front and pull out the evaporator tray to see if it is dry

take a flashlight and see if you can see a plastic tube that the water should be dripping into the pan

try to trace the tube up into the frig ther is some type of catch basin inside the frig on the back panel usually around middle area

If you are not able to find it you can call whrlpol customer service 1-800-253-1301
or call an appliance service enter and as them f they can walk you through the problem

Good Luck

Whirlpool refrigerator leaks water inside the frig. It gathers in the pan under the lowest sliding drawer. Possibly something to do with the icemaker? I don't use the icemaker -- I flipped up the bar...

Its a done deal...:) On MY whirlpool MODEL # ETICHMXKBO3 I found the drain hole frozen.. There was some debris and clogged it up and water froze up behind it causing the deck of my freezer to fill and freeze up and cause the water to drain into the fridge. Solution: remove the ice maker(if equipped) remove the rear aluminum cover. I used a heat gun and melted the 1 1/2 of ice build up and softly with a screw driver clean the drain. When drain is visible use scolding hot water until it starts flowing to the bottom tray. I used my air compressor to finish it off....

Leaking water

test: first, turn off water supply to frig. then dry up all water. then ensure frig is running at right temperature. now gradually turn on water and observe where leak is. My guess is it is overflowing the ice-maker. there is an adjustment for this. pop off the cover over the end of the ice-maker. look for a screw adjustment. turn it counterclockwise.
