On lock screen nothing happens when swipe to unlock how to open

If your phone has the following menu settings, (I do not have one to check myself for you) see if you can change them from tapping to swiping

Touch the menu, settings, accessibility, call answer/ending call, answer calls by tapping

Hello. You'll need to enter in your password first in order to get into the phone, and then set the phone to no security so that you can get into your device without having to enter it all the time, if it has become annoying. I would suggest at least using a simple swipe pattern to lock your phone

1. Enter screen unlock password
2. Go to:
Settings>Device>Lock screen>
(under screen security)
tap on "Screen Lock"
(enter your screen unlock password to confirm)
select: None, or Swipe, or pattern

if you are unable to select: None or Swipe
because they are greyed out

then you will have to just clear the credentials in security..
(this happens when you select a high security option)

go to:
Settings>Security>Clear Credentials
then go back to
selecting your new lock screen option

then, Go to:
Settings>Device>Lock screen>
(under screen security)
tap on "Screen Lock"
(enter your last screen unlock password to confirm)
select: None, or Swipe, or pattern

All you need is open your phone and locate the touch screen connection that connected on your screen, then remove it carefully and clean it and insert again, then open your phone,,,
if nothing's happen, you will now have to buy a new screen to replace it

If the battery is more than 3 years old, replace it

turn the phone on by pushint the power button, the volume up and the home button all three and it should boot up to a diagnostic screen where you can reset the phone. I had to do a factory reset on my phone too like five times when i first got it...Its a Huawei, *(pronouced wah way....??? but try that.

First-what phone do you have?
Second-it is pretty easy to replace the screen. Be safe while doing so, though.
Third-if the screen is way too expensive,and that happened to my outdated MP3 player before, maybe a new phone should be bought. Maybe.

Even though your home button is gone, you should be able to use some non-metal object to aid in "pushing" the home button. Something like a pencil eraser should work fine.

• Did this happen after some sort of impact?
• Is there other damage?
• Is your brightness set low, so that if you're in bright light (sunlight), you can't see the screen, or is it just black?
• Have you downloaded or updated an app recently?
  

I have an S3, and that has happen to me. When the screen was just black, I restarted the phone. That helped for a few minutes, but I knew a rogue app was actually causing this issue. Once I deleted that app, and restarted the phone, the problem was solved. IF this could be related to your issue, you can uninstall the trouble app(s) from the app store online via your computer or even from another late model android phone under the same gmail account.

I have also been unable to actually see the screen (it appeared to be black) because I was in direct sunlight. In that case, you have to just do the functions even though you don't see the information. Depending on how you've set the phone security, you may be able to press the side button to activate the "unlock" screen, and then just swipe down to access slide-down menu. Then, adjust the brightness as necessary.

First you have to get into menu if it will not swipe to unlock its defective. Some damage has occurred to the touch screen. If by chance you can get into the menu disable automatic lock under general settings. Be aware doing this will cause your phone to what we call BUT dial everyone or open the web or what have you.
