My Vizio tv has sound but a blank screen. The back lights are working I can see them thru the vents on the back of the tv. The model number is VW42LFHDTV10A can you help ?

Check the mini fuse on the Tcon board and see if its blown

I have a 50" VIZIO The problem I am having is no picture but have sound through my TV. When powered up the VIZIO appears then flashes off sound comes on but no picture power light is illuminated.

Check out the flash light test - if you see an image then the issue is with your inverter board that powers the back lighting.

Measure all the voltages coming off the power supply board first. Then move to the board that controls the picture. This board has one or two wide flat flexible cables running form it to the bottom of the screen.

Can you fix this cracked screen problem on Vizio VW42LFHDTV10A? and no sound?

We used to say have a short service on the patio and buy a new set---damaged panel display unit is more than set cost (if it is even available)
Let it go---when damaged it can instantly damage other boards/parts in the set.

Run a car with no oil and see what happens........

This problems are those 2 long LCD inverter boards to it left and to it right.These 2 long LCD inverter boards help the LCD picture screen panel to have a backlight to produced a picture.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy those refurbishes 2 long LCD inverter boards for the replacement.

Picture but no sound on my Vizio L37 Flat Screen

I had the same thing just happen and I used the following instructions from the Vizio Website for "humming sound" on tv and it worked. My sound is now working!!!!

1- Power off TV

2- Unplug TV from outlet

3- Press and hold in the power button on the TV for 30 seconds (while it is unplugged from the wall)

4- Release the power button

5- Plug in the TV into a different outlet

6- Power the TV back on.

Reset the TV settings.

Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.

Some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement.
