The brush holders & brushes for your DC825 are only sold as an assembly and the left and right sides are different; Dewalt part number 640550-00 for the left, 640555-00 for the right. They are accessable only by splitting the clamshell and easy to replace once you get to them.

Number 9 is a retaining ring that will come off and let you take the hammer out.
It is recommended to use the service tool item # 836 but it is on backorder at the factory level currently.
You may be able to pick the ring out of the quick coupler.

No, the brushes are part of the motor and pinion, Dewalt part number 607990-03. If you search "dewalt 607990-03" you can find several on-line vendors that sell the motor. They run about $50 plus shipping.
its supposed to impact immediately that is what gives the tool its power. once you get used to it you will use it for everything its lighter and more powerfull than the drill. just dont use spade bits in it or it will shatter them. try to buy tips that are impact ready
If this is a Dewalt tool as the picture indicates I would go to Dewaltservicenet.com and type in your model number for a manual, I also believe there is an area that you can click on for this information
